confused

Why was it necessary to fly someone to the scene?
Otherwise what is the point of Hazchem signs like this?

IT was the accident on the esterday near Knutsford

Apparently it was a used or waste product. And they needed o know how hazardous it was

The un number, 1270, in this case may cover a number of substances and since the introduction of generic trem cards the driver no longer has a convenient list of instructions to hand too the fire brigade in the event of an emergency hence the need for a chemist t be flown to the scene.

This is probably classed as utter duckwittery.... imagine you walk down a street with an imitation gun... whats going to happen ? you know its imitation but plod doesnt general public dont, so it has to be treated as real.

Like wise you have a vehicle with radioactive stickers on it. you called them hazmat. these are used to indicate hazardous material. you have an accident then the emergency services will have to treat it as being radioactive as they have to, no ifs no buts.

consider the whole picture and dont be doing stupid things like this, its not wise and its definetly not appreciated by the emergency services. this aint some sort of game and you are using a public highway.

the legal aspect, dont do it !

For the safety of the public and for the safety of the Fire fighters they needed to know what suits to wear

Walk through customs and for a joke say you have a bomb in your luggage. The result will not be good.

Drive through customs with radioactive stickers on your vehicle. The result will be................

But it was just a joke doesn't really wash in this current climate.

So you put these stickers on the car and just speculating, if you were involved in an incident and the Hazmat team get called to the scene. I wonder what the insurance company would make of getting billed for a full Hazmat response? That would be an interesting conversation..

Not sure how anyone could work out the cost: the NAIR scheme (national arrangements for incidents involving radioactivity) is sort of voluntary and probably not able to recover costs of the specialist responders.

I can't help suspect there is a (media hype based?) expectation gap between what most people think would happen and what actually would in the event of a radiological transport incident.

I agree with the other posters, any official looking haz diamonds would trigger a full-blown response even if the person looking at them was fairly convinced it was a joke.

Stick with the Zombies, there's loads to chose from!

Or just look online for other ideas, lots of daft car stickers I could find
