You could have said that at the very start - and it would have saved a couple of pages of inane discussion on physics, weights and sizes of brakes.....
It probably wouldn't smile

You mentioned that the police had taken the vehicle away.
Are the circumstances of the incident under investigation & has the vehicle been taken by the police for a vehicle examination as part of that investigation?
I'm not sure on that, was just told that the police took away the car & his mobile phone so probably checking to see if he was on a call at the time.

The biggest thread I've ever started laugh

In response to the many brakes post, the larger brakes from the donor 330 were fitted & he had good tyres fitted.
Why on earth did he fit the brakes from a 330, when it has been proven without doubt that 318 brakes would have been more than adequate?...tsk...some people.

Ok, first things first, that was not my statement. The statement that bigger engine = more weight = brakes having to work harder is literally a fact. You can't just say "rubbish" and make it so laugh

Secondly, 90 pounds is not 18kg :.
Jim doesn't seem to be the sharpest, please don't confuse him with numbers or facts.
I take offence at this statement hehe

Surprised you're on here and not sharing your knowledge to all car manufacturers about how they can save money just putting the same brakes on all the cars...
Toyota used the same front brakes on every rear wheel drive car they made in the '90s.
Altezza/IS200/IS300
GS300/Aristo (including the twin turbo)
Soarer TT/active suspension V8 (smaller brakes on the other V8s)
LS400
Supra/Supra TT

That's quite a range of weight and power.

What explanation does the friend of the OP give for why the accident happened?

Was it driver error or mechanical errors

I think he'll be fine - he can just say it was like that when he bought it. You're not expected to know about modifications on used cars.

Possibly.
Great, Perverting the Course of Justice as well.

That's jail time.

Bets advice ever.

I Don't think he was being serious...
Thanks.

Although there isn't a Course of Justice yet. He's already made a false statement - don't two wrongs make a right? In for a penny....
In for 454g?

He's in an induced coma at the moment so wont be able to answer anything for a while - just going on what I've been told by his mrs

Hmm... you may be onto something there. I'll hand over to our friend Nanook for the inane (and, I'm sure, irrelevant) analysis.
Mate, give it a rest. The growns ups were discussing something you clearly can't quite grasp, you don't need to come up with any more 'weighted' arguments to try and make a point you don't quite understand.

Such a try-hard. Bless you.

Perhaps they are hanging onto the book for now so they can throw it at someone else if this guy is a vegetable or ends up in a coffin.

Clearly he's been convicted by the court of PH for "Being a massive tt" and as a result there can be no sentence other than death.

Should he recover from his injuries then I'd expect that he be given a fiat panda (vintage 1985) and given a 15 minute headstart from Heston services before the PH collective are released to recover his head in exchange for free advertising to the value of £200

Going by my previous experience, when I was in an induced coma and in hospital post accident, the insurance company wouldn't even talk to my wife.

They insisted to talk to me no matter what they were told.

If hes hurt himself enough to be kept in an induced coma, then its not just the third party cover that's going to hurt him, his lack of cover for injury etc.

A standard motor policy gives precious little cover for your own injury anyway, so he's not losing out on much there.

At least nobody has thrown the book at him yet, that could really hurt.
