I paid the fine on Friday, had to go to two Post offices and a bank to find someone who knew how to pay it in. It cost me another £9.50 in fees as well..and another small fee could apply when the bank recieve the payment.

Ok, very interesting. First one I’ve heard about.

For professional reasons, I would be interested to see all of the paperwork - if you don’t mind sending it by email?
Hi I have been flashed also on the Autobahn, it has come through all in German and not a single word of English, although the new law states it should be presented in the local language of the registered car.

I was doing 112 Km/h in a 100 rounded down to 108 Km/h, they are asking for the drivers details as it clearly registered to a female, the fine is 10Euro!

Can we simple ring up and pay it or have to ask to have the fine made out in English? My feeling is that there is no mechanism in place yet for the German authorities to send fines out in English and they are chancing their arms by requesting payment?

Many thanks in advance

Ironically i just recieved my first speeding ticket from a speed camera whilst driving through Germany. With German efficiency the ticket took just three week to land on my door mat.
I was around 8mph over the speed limit and the fine for this crime, €20, obviously i will just pay up.
Anone else been naughty and had fines through the post since May??
mine took 3 weeks also, speeding in 100 down to 108 and 10 Euro fine, but it is all in German!!

Got flashed beginning of July in Belgium with a forward facing camera. No country identifier on front plate (how many EU countries are RHD?) and haven't heard anything. Can only guess they don't think it's worthwhile pursuing

I wonder if we will soon start having to declare these euro fines come insurance renewal time? I think the questions are currently restricted to convictions/endorsements/courses (depending on insurance provider).....
In theory you probably should do even now, it's still a speeding conviction or an accident, I don't recall insurance co's stating on there applications that the question applies to offences/incidents only in the UK. Perhaps AGT may have an opinion

I received a letter from my Italian hire car company that I committed an offence, the letter took 4 months to arrive. They took the admin fee from me.
8 months later I received the factual notice of fine from the local Italian police, it had no details of the offence.
I ignored it all.
My brother who lives in France received a similar ticket a couple of years back. The letter was delivered by his local gendarme. He did t bother paying it either.

Interesting about the French cameras, I spend about 2 months there each year and have been known to set the odd motorway camera off.

We had a hire car in France earlier this year and I recieved a letter from the hire company saying I had been caught speeding. They took an admin fee and said expect a letter from the french authorities and I will be fined. Needless to say they won't be getting anything. What they going to do. Put me on trial in France haha? I still haven't recieved the letter from France either and this was months ago.

Given that in a lot of places in Europe they hand tickets out like a paedo handing out sweets (eg. those ten euro things) and they don't endorse your licence then the UK insurers can fk right off! Doubtless there'll be some adenoidal type on here sat in his rigid grey underpants who will say you should "morally" tell them and that you should "suck it up" - absolute bks!

In France they're a revenue raiser and they target tourists - there's people on here been stopped several times on a two week holiday - declare that to a UK insurer and they'd absolutely bum rape you.

fk me there is some angry people on here, read my post, the bit about 'in theory' with today's climate of information being shared everywhere, it just might start to come back and bite at some point
