A dealer will usually discount something because the staff there aren't directly benefitting from the full price sale (usually), so they will be decent about it. Regardless if its the last one or not - they don't care.

An independant has no such reason to discount, and some prefer not to sell it discounted even if it means no sale - its up to them, it is their business.

Personally I would have just said as its scratched can you discount to account for it - and seen what they responded with.

End of the day if you want it buy it, if you don't then you already know the answer..

Back to the basic question you asked.

Do you have a 'right' to a discount ?

You might expect one

You should ask for one if you want

Yo might get one

Do yo pu have a 'right' to one

Of course you fking well don't
