Glad you've got it sorted. Let's hope that this is the end of it, and you can settle down and enjoy the good weather.

Excellent result.

If the solicitors are going after the vendors themselves and they know which legal levers to pull/buttons to press I can imagine the vendors will find the £10k very quickly...

Excellent news, final update once solicitors have actually paid? Not that I don't trust them but, well, you know.

A amount on top wouldn’t be turned down but for me i,m happy to get my £10k returned,
It’s not quite over for me as i,m awaiting a reply from the council with some answers, amongst other questions i have asked,
Why or who made the decision that the previous owners who signed the agreement and after all this was bought to light agreed to repay the council were allowed to walk away and we were forced into having to pay the debt, They don’t know that i know the answer to this question and there constantly avoiding answering it........

Well that was an interesting read, thanks all, glad you’re sorted OP, that sounds hugely stressful couple of years.

I think your approach to this issue has been correct. Pursue the source of the problem, as opposed to the easy route.
Well done.

Kick back with a glass of wine and enjoy the victory.

+1 just what I was thinking!

Having just read the entire thread, it has been very enlightening and well done OP for sticking with it. thumbup

It would also be very interesting if you were able update the thread, not only confirming the solicitors actually have paid (although I'd be surprised if there was any issue here), but also with any further developments around the council's handling of this and their responses to your questions...
