That is pretty dreadful parking, cars on one side of the road makes sense, but on both sides?
It always amazes me that people don't realise that the countryside is effectively a factory with working machinery moving around... no local would be the car to park up opposite another leaving so little room to get through...

undoubtedly the farmer didn't make the right choice of action, but totally understand the feeling...

(Fence, road, vegetation and waterfall in background).

No wonder the farmer was pissed! That's the narrowest bit of the road and the place must have been heaving for cars to be parked that far down...
I wouldn’t even dream of parking there! Maybe on the green verge where there’s enough space (just behind you're maps link, there's a bigger grass verge) would be a sensible spot, but even then I probably wouldn’t do it.

Who are all these people that think that’s acceptable?

I was firmly in the farmers an idiot camp but seeing the wider photo and the location on a map they truly deserved it.

Yep they deserved that, there is a difference between leaving that gap in a city street, and in the countryside where tractors etc need to get by.

Cars both sides of the road.
Single lane.
Alternative parking close by.

They deserved it.

If I parked like that, I'd be expecting damage. If they are in the countryside for a walk, park sensibly and walk a little further. FFS.

Yep, I agree, the google pic shows a bigger picture.

That’s a two way road as well, wtf are walkers thinking parking like that?

There's a pay car park less than half a mile further along the road, £3 all day. Either it was full, or half a mile/£3 was a step too far for these walkers

if you were the BMW driver and you parked up first you'd be pretty pissed off at the skoda driver

but looking at the google map, they've parked both sides at the narrowest point on the road. smash

OP - how many cars were damaged? Just the Bee Emm and the Skoda ? [edit] and a Jag mirror?

Yeah, in that case wouldn't even dream of parking anywhere on that road.

This was for the rememberance service on Great Gable I believe. Bit of a sad do all round, but that is spectacularly inconsiderate parking.

Interesting the number of people expressing delight at cars being deliberately damaged because they inconvenienced someone trying to drive past.

Does the same apply to cars parked on the pavement?

The inconsiderate parking is a minor road offence, if that. The damage to the cars is criminal damage.

Really surprising so many people side with the farmer.

However, there is a feeling of natural justice here.

Indeed for me it does!.

If you're one of those wkers who block the pavement like on the st parking thread and someone in a wheelchair or buggy needs to get past you deserve any damage that occurs to your car.

Of course if kerbside parking is compulsory the above doesn't apply.

Criminal Damage regardless of the circumstances. A loner cannot be allowed to get away with this as society needs to function.

Perhaps I don’t like your parking? I smash your car up. You protest or have a dog? I feel threatened and run you over too or shoot you and the mutt.

These things escalate and once you allow A then B follows. The police should be the ones to sort it out.
