Because of further incompetence by court staff, this took longer than expected but I have now dealt with this case.

OP's fine was reduced by £1809.

As someone said on Twitter, if you can afford Sky TV and a foreign holiday, you can afford a criminal lawyer. Well done agt.

As the OP I can confirm Andrew is a true gent and has provided a fantastic service in resolving this.

The sheer incompetence of the magistrates and their staff is worrying.

Thanks also for all the useful comments and support.

Indeed, sheer and consistent incompetence. I would have been tempted to pay for AGT's services and send them the bill.

If it was a 40mph limit then were you considered to be effectively breaking 2 speed limits 60 & 40?
Sorry but serves you right.

Great result. I do hope you did not let him refuse the nice bottle of wine you offered him?

But how much were your fees so we understand the real saving? For all I know you may have charged £2500 for this case!

There are limits on what the law can do to the accused too. He wasn't due a massive fine, but got one.

Really? A road is subject to a single speed limit (possibly variable by vehicle type), not multiple, otherwise how would any prosecutions take place?
