Spotted southbound heading for the Dartford crossing, black cars, blue lights going. Nothing unusual there, but never seen the following in a convoy

ML63
RS6 estate
E63 estate
Passet R36 estate
Mercedes van

In that order. No Range Rover or Jaguar in sight.

Any clues as to what their purpose is?

Edited to add the Passat - had this nagging feeling I had left one out

I hope this is the Police's answer to chase down all the stolen Golf R's and Audi RS 3's.

4 non-police cars using illegal blues so as to not be held up because they feel they are more important than anyone else?

Could be anything really - National Crime Agency, prisoner transport, police driver training to name a few

I posted this one on the last thread with a similar question: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6NZTca-EDw

I see this type of convoy reasonably regularily - it's the model of cars that I thought unusual. Never seen 1 of those with blue lights on, let alone 4 in one place.

Actually don't remember ever seeing a R36 estate in the flesh,

I'd hazard a guess that the van had someone/something in it

I assume so ,I did have to look up all the SF applications.

Someone didn't have time to type "special forces."

The reason you don't know what it's about, is because there is a reason they don't want you to know what it's about.

So, no point in asking as no one here will know what's it's about.

Saw a very similar (possibly the same) convoy on the M25 this evening, anticlockwise near the M1 junction. It's because they don't want us to know that we are interested.

Was this between 10 and 10:30 on m25? I saw same if so when they were round by m11 junction. What was weirder was that there were 4 or 5 groups of 4 or 5 vehicles in each. Each group was 30 secs or so apart. All unmarked, dark vehicles with blues on. Mixture of cars and vans. One group I think May have been exclusively vans in fact.

Certainly caught my attention.

But if they don't want to people to ask questions perhaps they should be less conspicuous.

Also, I want to know anyway, especially now that they don't want me to know....

indeed, but if they were less conspicuous, you wouldn't know that they don't want you to know what it's about.
