This is what happens when retards get voted into government

We seem to be following the same path as the yanks, hopefully our citizens will not be as foolish to elect the puppet of a remedial chimp but I'm cynical.

Half the dumb ass, shit for brains policy concerning the screwing of motorists was a legacy of the Tory government so don't vote for those muppets either if you can help it.

Bottom line - you work to earn money to pay for your car, your and easy target - you steal one and use it to commit burgalries and you are a victim of society who deserves understanding.

I'm quitting my job to become a criminal if 'New Labour' get in again.

Re vera, cara mea, mea nil refert!

Interesting, I haven't found any good Latin translation programs for free downloading other than Adam Smith's and that translates the above fairly well. What was the URL you used, please? Remember that Latin construction was not that we are used to in English (or much conversational Italian) today. Perhaps that accounts for your consideration of my state vis-a-vis consumption of alcoholic beverage. Also, many Latin words have different meanings depending upon the context in which they are used. 'vis' for example can mean 'might', 'force', 'violence' or 'amount' ... which last is its English translation in 'vis-avis' (literally 'amount for amount', usually taken to mean 'in relation to'). This is one of the challenges in Latin/English translation. It can work much better the other way.

FWIW, the quotes translate as:

Honk if you speak Latin.

If you can read this bumper sticker, you are both well-educated and much too close.

You can't say that in Latin.

Oh. Was I speaking Latin again? Silly me. Sometimes it just slips out.

Is this not the very same ASA who forced MG Rover to suspend several of its car advertisements as they appeared to "glorify speed" (or some other tosh) by using blurred backgrounds etc?

Looks like a Labour-controlled quango decision which unfairly penalised the last remaining British volume car maker, while foreign firms got away with the same thing for years.

No surpise then, that the UK couldn't support a sporty car maker (MG) while systematically pricing people off the (crumbling) roads, GATSOing for 79mph on the motorways, and blaming all accidents on speed.

Somehow I couldn't see the same thing happening in Europe - imagine the French version of the ASA banning Renault adverts (va-va-voom = banned - sounds like he's speeding.....)

Another 5 years? No thanks Mr Blair.

Afternoon all! Having been somewhat of a lurker in recent months, I thought it was about time I signed up and had my say! I've just sent an e-amil the the ASA about where I can complain about their adjudication on this, and I've composed a very long and detailed complaint about the pile of turd that was the DSCP defence and the ASA ruling, lets see if it goes anywhere......

question:

do you really think a tory (or any other) government is really going to get rid or review the cameras.. I mean they have all promised so so much, they need the money to pay for it all.

Sorry for the delay - I've been away!

Had a bit of email dialogue with some dude on the enquiries desk, he said that I couldn't request an appeal or get teh ASA to change their decision. I told him I just wanted to point out the "problems" arising in the decision.

So i sent in my complaint and I got a confirmation email saying that it had been sent to the people involved in the case and that my comments would be taken on board!

I think that if everyone complains about the speed kills advertising in their area, the ASA will have to give in eventually, especially if we keep complaining about the decisions!
