And silly.

It's bad enough on an Audi appliance. On something as drop-dead luscious as that... No. It's not like you'll forget which 512BB is yours in Tesco's car park, is it?
It's a 365 gt4.
biggrin

Do FourDot provide a template so that you can centre the rear zero plate in the recess, should you wish?
Yes, there is a template if you wish to use it.

There were some marks in the paint towards the top of the recess, so I had to cover that or it would have looked worse than it does.

What did you do to achieve this? I've got a 6 digit number plate and run a "legal" shorter plate, I have measure it and it does tally up with the DVLA rules.

i also carry a printed version of the DVLA rules with measurements etc in glovebox just in ase.
I wrote this email:

To whom it may concern,

My wife was stopped by a traffic officer on the M56 motorway on the 04/01/2018 at 08.01 hrs.

The reason for the stop was that the registration plate failed to conform to section 59(1) of the vehicle excise and registration act 1994

The government legislation is http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2001/561/pdfs/u... (note table B, page 22)

The number plates were produced to this standard by Fourdot Affinity Ltd, DVLA supplier identity number 48070 and they have on their website:

Fourdot number plates are certified to BS AU 145d standard and are fully compliant with The Road Vehicles (Display of Registration Marks)(Amendment) Regulations 2009 as detailed in Statutory Instrument 2009 No.811 under the powers of The Vehicle Excise and Registration Act 1994(a).

and also

Fourdot Affinity Ltd is authorised by the DVLA with Supplier Identity Number 48070 under The Vehicles Crime (Registration of Registration Plate Suppliers) Regulations 2008 detailed in Statutory Instrument 2008 No.1715 under the powers of The Vehicles (Crimes) Act 2001(a).

taken from https://www.fourdotdesignerplates.co.uk/legal/lega...

I have also been to ***** traffic Police station and spoken to sergeant *****, who measured and confirmed that the number plate is 100% legal.

The pictures attached confirm that the number plates are legal, there may be some error in the measurements taken from the photograph as it is hard to get the correct angle for each measurement, hence me attending the police station to confirm with the sergeants eyes that the plates are in fact legal.

I request that this FPN be cancelled with immediate effect, and notice emailed and posted with the confirmation that the FPN has been cancelled.

If this is not satisfactory, we will instruct a solicitor to attend court and will apply for costs.

Best regards
