That deducting the amount from your Council Tax bill is justifiable in court. Pretty obvious whatbhe was asking.

There is no way in a million years that you’d win that if it went to court.

I wouldn't win but I'd be able to justify it. I'd still not pay it.

Op, ignore this guy completely...!!

Follow the process that is in place and you have every chance that it will get sorted out to your satisfaction (more the fact you have the location, pothole, accident and time/date on camera); this is especially true if the pothole has been previously reported. I'm guessing here, but that was a major road and a pretty severe pothole so:

- It has very likely been reported
- The local authority has chosen not to repair due to the road closure needed/disruption

Disregard everything StairDominator says apart from "follow the process".
