Sump plug? Old tipper / few quid to the scrap men or bin lorry to get a little too close whilst trying to squeeze through? Does he work, rely on it to get somewhere at certain times? Remove all four tyre valves! Personally if it was me the car would disappear if no joy from the local plod.

What did the perp do?

Sounds like there is a lot more to it than the OPs situation if a DC is involved and someone went down the steps for it.....
Nightmare stalking situation with a complete nutter. Threats to kill, maim, etc. Messages left on door, graphic letters and photos through post, 741 threatening emails, ( all went answered), threats to burn business premises and home down with everyone inside, visiting business premises with knife. etc etc.

" No-ones been hurt yet" was the procedural response from Plod.

Cheers,

Tony

So there are substantive offences, unlike the OP.

Sounds like a nightmare with the right result in the end.

I would suggest that there are substantive offences in the OP situation, behaviour likely to cause breach of the peace, obstruction of the highway , threatening behaviour, to name just a few. The police went round rather ineffectively and simply raised the harassment level.

In my case the police themselves told me that if I hadn't raised the matter with the Chief Constable they would have waited for someone to get hurt before any action would have been taken. The "perp" had longstanding mental health issues. They only had a brief and passing acqaintance with my family. The mental health team thought that there was no harm in it.

I just preferrred to be a bit proactive rather than wait for actual, physical harm to come to my family or myself.

As regards "right result", time will tell. The nutter still knows where we live , we haven't moved, and we can only hope that the fixation is either negated or now focussed elsewhere. Hence why we are updated periodically by the DC as someday the nutter may get released.

For the moment they, and thus we, are secure.

Cheers,

Tony

What do we have the police for? They should have a word with the chap that he is causing trouble for the sake of it.

We had some problems with a family across from us deliberate parking in such a way to cause obstruction to a few neighbours.

His sons who I've had a word with a few times politely.I am getting to old for fisticuffs but am fit for my age.

In the end I visited the father and meant what I said that I would take him on if this nonsense didn't stop.I have never relied on my sons to help me out. Both are over sixteen stones and strong.

There are dheads everywhere looking for problems.Sometimes I won't walk away from it.

There's plenty you can do to the car, may I recommend copious amounts of Duck Tape all over the windscreen....takes ages to get the residue off. You just have to be prepared to stand up to the moron. Drag another neighbour in to it, or let him see you really annoyed, carrying a baseball bat. Bullys are all mouth when they know you fear them, yet soon back down when someone stands up to them.

It's 2am one wet rainy night.
All dressed in black with face fully hidden from view, with one of those miniature seat-belt cutter/hammer combos you break each window. This can be done with minimum of noise, just a hard blow in the corner of each pane. Proceed to deflate all tyres by removing & disposing of all 4 tyre valves.
First thing in the morning you phone the police to report an abandoned damaged vehicle which is in a state likely to harm the many children that play in the street. Animals could also harm themselves. Make a further call to the local newspaper stating that you have reported to the police the risk the car is to children & animals just in case the police do nothing.
The principle is that people will do anything to look after children & animals but bugger all when it comes to adult human beings.

What is it about the British people and parking? Should try living where I do where a guy who lives streets away, cones off the road outside my house so he can park there to work on his house, he does seem to be getting better these days, mostly because there is less cones due to someone disposing of some them, and well I keep buckling them when I park on them, though getting one wedged under my Defender was an inconvenience, eventually came out after 5 minutes of reversing back and forth hehe

To be honest OP you're kinda stuck, as he seems a grade A bell, being nice wont sort things out and being violent etc will just cause you more problems, so enough cocaine to make it classed as a dealing quantity, hide on his truck, call the police, just wear gloves when doing it

I would suggest taking photographs of his car when completely blocking your drive, have any remarks made to your wife or relatives documented to the police and maybe even consider cctv on your house. Build a small case for harassment. After a few more incidents i would speak to him, then That way if it does ever kick off physically you have proof of him baiting you. Or proof of him assaulting you.

It's not Knowle, nor is it a council estate.

The drive currently has a car in pieces on it, so it's going nowhere and there's no other room to fit cars on it. So whoever gets home first between me and the Mrs parks over the drop-kerb (if it's free) and the other parks in front. Whoever gets home last would normally park infront of the house, or wherever they can.

A little update:

I went to have a polite word with the bloke when I knew he was in on Saturday morning (not really early, circa 11am). Miraculously he refused to answer the door. So I may have said through the letterbox " If you're too spineless to talk to me face to face, I'll do it through a letterbox, stop parking like a twonk, as you've already had plod at the door to tell you to stop. If you want to talk to me properly, come and knock on the door and I'll happily have a conversation with you about it. If you're too gutless and carry on parking like a nause, then we'll be speaking with plod again, as well as the *name of landlord*"

I was tempted to swear, but didn't as there were kids in the house, giggling. I didn't want to be blamed for them learning a new swear word.

So, over the weekend it was fine, and when I got home tonight he was slightly over it, but there was nowhere else to park in the road, So I'll give him the benefit of the doubt tonight. See what happens.

Haven’t you read the thread? You should've poured petrol through the letterbox and set fire to it, then stood guard and executed anyone trying to help, including the fire brigade. Something along those lines seems to be the only acceptable action to the Walts on here.
