On the upside, I hope the LL is able to attach the compensation payment and recover the money he was owed by the Ali's smile

Yea but it’s shows how this country is changing and how victim culture is taking over. The poor sod who lost thousands is forgotten and most are poor people who don’t pay their bills how dare you film someone who had 14 days notice of a baliffs visit!

I hope they use the money to pay the landlord who was out out pocket by their selfishness

I have watched pretty much every episode, and not once have i felt any symphony for a debtor.

They bring it on themselves.
Quite the charmer, aren't you.
Think that post may be your swan song. You have orchestrated your own demise IMO....

broswing bbc news and came across this:

quite a fan of the show, think most of them do a good job in difficult circumstances. the way these people where used for entertainment purposes maybe is a bit low but welcome to trash tv!, wont be the first or last.

the fact theyve been awarded compo is madness and opens a massive can of worms. how does this effect traffic cops etc, or because theyve committed an offence wont it count?

do you think they'll pay the arreas with the 20k compo? me, id start another claim against them now theyve got assests to pay with!
Will he now use this compensation to pay his rent arrears if not already done so since 2015?

If i was the landlord i would be wanting it back now he has some cash in the bank

And nothing of value was lost.

But seriously - there is a big difference between filming the police going about their jobs in a public place and filming inside a family's home at their lowest point.

Its amazing the value of these awards when you see people having to battle for criminal injury compensation payouts. Bearing in mind to receive £19k you have to have suffered a permanent mental injury which is moderately disabling

Why do people call it their home if they haven't paid a bean of rent for 6 months and had 14 days notice to vacate. Cleary when the baliffs entered it ceased being their home and any rights they had were gone!

In fariness the baliffs normally give them an hour to collect their belongings or what they can even though they have had 14DAYS to do that.

The baliff could frog march them out the house on the 15th day and say a COURT says this is no longer your home. Lock them out and give them 7 days to arrange collection of the remaing belongings. Just because these guys give the a hour or so and often help them carry stuff these people were filmed!

This I am victim culture in this country is a joke! They were not victims they choose to do nothing proactive to help there situation. There are protecions in place the onus is on the landlord to get a possesion order. If you get one thats because all other avenues have been tried and judge could nothing to help the tenants.

i agree to a point that its not their home. Channel 5 broadcast without their permission in a private dwelling. Not sure that equates to £20k

Channel 5 probably got more than £20k worth of advertising paying the fine....

Being a landlord, of one house, who is chasing money for damages done by previous tenants I hope the landlord got some, if not all the rent arrears paid back to him.

For me, I don't want to keep the house but with prices dropping I am stuck with it for now.
