Disclosing the ‘history’ of a house
Discussion
Does anyone know if there is a legal requirement to disclose the history of a house when trying to sell it? For example, if there was a major crime that happened at some point in the past?
I’ve done some basic googling but come up with nothing, although my google-fu ain’t great.
Thanks

Would be a laugh to show someone round the house and walk into the lounge and say..... Over there by the fire is where the mother and youngest child were found..... the father managed to crawl into the dining room before giving in to his injuries. The youngest child has never been found......
Imagine the rest of the viewing after that

There is a house with "I will kill Again" sprayed in big letters on the plumbing room floor.
I was having laminate floor laid - modern house with concrete floors - and was having a laugh with the guy fitting it when we came up with the idea.
The house has changed hands a couple of times. According to pictures on Zoopla the people I sold it to kept the flooring.
Maybe its yet to be discovered.

What about war damage? I found a photo once of a group of houses near me the morning after a German bomb landed close by. They were pretty badly damaged - the front walls pushed inwards - but look fine today. They were quite new when bombed so the new brickwork blends in.
I've no idea if people were killed or injured in them. I've often wondered if significant repairs were ever noticed or disclosed.
My present house has "action damage" as my mate in the navy calls it. I know the story behind the two incidents because I knew the old lady who lived here in the war.
One was a landmine that took out the windows and ornate plaster ceilings.
The other - scoring to stone and brickwork - was done by a barrage balloon that broke free from the nearby golf course and got snagged on our roof.
