Over the past three weeks or so a car's repeatedly driven past my house between ten and eleven pm at around 5mph glaring into our property, it can happen four times an evening and it's slightly unsettling for my wife. I've passed the registration number onto the police however they aren't really interested.

Apart from following the guy home and hammering frozen sausages into his lawn can anyone offer any advice on how to stop this?

It's not helped by the fact that I work night shifts

Cheers

Definitely delivering chicken kebabs to a house a few doors down. The driver is probably wondering why your wife is standing at the window half dressed and waving to him.

Why not wait for them one night and follow.

Could well be this, we often get a knock on the door from delivery drivers looking for a house with the same number as ours but just round the corner.

Being a woman she’ll be a whizz on the old sewing machine, so perhaps your wife could knock up some of those ‘curtain’ things a lot of people have in their houses these days.

Stand outside and take a photograph as he passes, making sure he sees you.

We have curtains however we have rarely felt the need to close them, spending most of our time at the rear of the property it seems somewhat a needless exercise, we also have shutter blinds that are semi closed. When I'm on shifts my wife closes the curtains but that's only for seven nights in twenty eight.

My first thoughts were it's probably a delivery driver, it most definitely isn't. I could set my clock by his first pass and he never stops to drop food off. We live on a long straight stretch of road so I can see him speed up and disappear into the distance, only for him to pass again ten minutes later from the same direction.

It's all rather odd and seems far more sinister than a doner kebab.

Watch him do it, then dart out and hide, when he goes to pass the second time stop him and ask what the fk he thinks he's doing.

Why not ask him what he is doing?

You don't close the curtains because you spend all the time at the back of the house, yet you mange to linger long enough to know exactly what time this car comes past? Try closing them. Problem solved.

At the very least change your pattern of closing curtains won't take people long to realise the only time your curtains are closed is when you are away.

Some nights we close our curtains some nights we leave them open. I cant follow the logic so pretty sure it would confuse any would be intruder.

Print off a sign with their reg plus "I see you".

You'll look like a nutter to your neighbours then as well as PistonHeads.

He’s probably just some lothario type, looking out for women whose husband works night shifts.

They probably signal their availability with some kind of code, perhaps only drawing the curtains when the coast is clear and their husband is at work.

Stand in your room with the light off wearing nothing but a Barney The Dinosaur head.

When he drives past, turn the light on and off at 1 second intervals.

Fight weird with weird.

Or close your curtains
