Interesting thread. Lots of sanctimonious cops.
The guy in question is obviously not very smart and definitely hates cops. He is not alone in that. Probably sick of them continually pointing cameras at him in the hope of a quick £100 win.
He has obviously seen the van and consequently is probably not speeding anyway. He just hates cops and thinks he has got one over on them.
The cops might wonder why he hates them so much ?....but no...the full weight of the law drops on him to teach him a lesson and deter anyone else thinking of making their laser toys redundant. Unlimited effort and resources applied.
I can hear the sanctimonious chorus warming up about speeding being evil incarnate....but it isn’t really. Most people want the police to protect them from bad prople...burglars and the like. The police on the other hand are determined to criminalise motorists to prove their inclusive credentials...
Unrealistically low speeds limits combined with officious and overbearing enforcement equals cop haters..

It also equals 'cop lovers' when you see how many people contact the police about enforcing excess speed enforcement.

Not that it matters as trust / confidence in the police etc doesn't really change much over time.

I had the unfortunate honour in dealing with this moron last year, in a professional capacity.

He is a conceited and arrogant sociopath who from the first minute I met him, was a total pr**k.

I left his company and was seething at his and his companies attitude towards both myself and my work colleagues. Daily his company will contact us and daily my PA will ask them to stop calling. He is the kind of arrogant moron that will insist on buying a £50 note for £25 and try to make you feel like an idiot for not selling it to him.

Laughing my socks off at this article and hope he hates jail. He will NOT make any friends in there...hahahaahahaaha

Surely that's the top of a slippery slope that ends with "if there were no laws there would be no criminals"?

As this was a mobile laser van then this wouldn't have actually involved any police officers until he started being investigated for PCOJ, so would have occupied absolutely no resources that could have been otherwise directed up until the point he made the conscious decision to try and slime his way out of it rather than bend over and take the points.

If your issue is with police resources being used up, take your argument up with White-Range-Rover-Guy, not the police.

The guys an idiot all he had to do was say absolutely nothing and instead of throwing the jammer in a river behind his house dispose of it more thoroughly he owns a scrap yard FFS

If he'd kept his mouth shut disposed of the jammer properly the police wouldn't have had a thing to work with other than an angry man made some rude gestures at a camera van and tjeir equipment seemed not to work on the days and times he drove past them
That sounds like the best bit of advice on here if you wanted to get away with it.

No comment, no comment.............. You haven’t lied and pcoj only exists if they can prove you were using a jammer. Must me hundreds of better ways to get rid of it.

Tuck it up underneath a lorry somewhere. Throw it in a skip in a town a 100 miles away. You get the picture.

I had the feeling that this wasn't exactly an isolated offence for him, or out of character, so I'm pleased you've confirmed what a tool he is.

It is about teaching joe public who is boss. No resources to police burglaries but unlimited resources to police speed. Your priorities are not the priorities of the majority.

Can you evidence these unlimited resources being put into speed enforcement please?

I'm stunned to hear about them being as my traffic dept was cut by about 75%.

If your priorities matched those of the taxpayer / voter then you might have more people on side and willing to fund the police. I cannot remember anyone ever saying let’s give the police more funding to buy more speed vans and cameras.
Food for thought?

Ignoring your 'police state' jibe, It's not that you have a contrary view, its that you are unable to support your view with any facts whatsoever.

This isn't in itself surprising, because said view seems to centre on the opinion that the police should only enforce the laws that you agree with and that it's somehow part of the police's job to be liked.

I know a few coppers and they wouldn't consider themselves to be doing a good job unless they were heartily disliked by people who like breaking the law.

Top tips we can gleam form this case.
1. Don’t drive past police drawing attention to yourself by making offensive gestures.
2. Don’t allow the police to interview you at home without a solicitor.
3. Don’t remove jammer from your and throw it in the river behind your house.

Main is let’s not speed whilst the cash machines vans that only target legal motorists ie not false, plates drunk or people without a legal connection to the vehicle.

Avon and Scumerset police park these things in the filter drains dangerously on the edge of duel cariggeways on by a pedestrian crossing basically it’s how stupid can we park this van to catch the most speeders.

So I have no time for them.

Police can you catch the person who burgled my premises he left all this evidence? No sorry resources.

Police someone keeps driving past our no police officer manned so called safety vans and we can’t get a speed reading on his Range Rover. We have all available manpower on it as we a cannot have this victimless crime.

You can see why they like speeding money in the bank, motorist don’t get conditional discharges. They get 8 months inside.

Repeat burglars or car theifs normally have 9 life’s first!

Motoring offences are a nice little earner it’s like nectar points for policing as they get some of fine money back.

Is that written down on any forces freely available priorties that speed enforcement ranks above anything else? It's all readily available, let's see it ours are violent crime, firearms and domestic violence, speed enforcement isn't even on the list.

Or are you just spouting off and can't actually back up anything you've posted? (Still waiting for a reply from earlier on FYI)

Your post reads terribly, but I think I can decipher your rants.

1. No idea why they didn't attend, they should have.

2. Can you prove all available manpower was on this incident? I bet you can't but if saying it makes you feel better, carry on but I'd bet you a tenner you're wrong.

3. He wasn't sent to prison for speeding, he went down the steps for PCOJ, don't let that nugget of cold hard fact stop your axe grinding though.
