Hi chaps.

Sorry to not have updated with pictures,
I did but the link directed to my personal floor account so I deleted the link

I'm away at the north west 200 at the moment but am with some more tech savvy friends so hopefully pictures later.

I have 30+ photos and a walk round video, and the obligatory custard photo!..

I know I've not 'lost' £9300, but it's the feeling of being told blatant lies I wouldn't do it simple as. May as well have just hit me on the head and took my money. I see it as simple as that. . Theft.

But I still hold out hope of a resolution.

And the car ISN'T running and driving.
Despite being told it was!

Anyhow photos to follow. . Hopefully.

If you upload the pictures to imgur.com, you can do so without actually posting them on Imgur, and copy and paste the BBCode reference for each picture in your posts here to display it.

he's in the Irish Republic? Yes, so in effect you bought a car from another Country and want to inforce UK laws on him? You're shagged whether he's a dealer or not
Not quite you can use still use the small claims court but the European version and I believe it is all done via video conferencing, he stuck on a uk ebay site so is liable to uk laws, (Ryanair tried to wrangle out of this with claims against them by saying they needed to be heard in Ireland, to try and absolve themselves of liability) this was thrown out.

Just WOW..is that even worth investing any more money and time in ? Its looks like its going to want more than its value spent on it to get it back in shape.

Hope it works out for you.

The trouble with cars like this is that they get sold on by the unscrupulous until some poor sod with honesty and integrity buys it, and then they are pretty much stuck with the financial hit as they are too honest to sell it on unscrupulously.

Looks like a complete dog's dinner to me. Or, as they say in the trade, "ideal restoration project".

Oh dear that does not seem to be roadworthy. Going to need a fair bit of welding to be frank I wonder if a body off job is needed to make sure ...

Despicable. If I'd had any remaining faith in humanity, this blatant, thieving deception would have finished it off.

It's to be hoped that karma will get them in the end.

He's at the NW200. I'd take it as a given that he'll be pissed!

Wow, that looks horrific. Agree that that is either scrap, or a 5-figure sum to get right again.

The guy is clearly a trader looking at his ebay profile, and his description of “a very nice lotus esprit turbo 1988 in nice condition” is extremely wide of the mark, so you have a strong case against him for misrepresentation.

I’d be trying to get my money back too - actually getting it may prove to be the difficult part though...

Oh dear OP , that doesn't look healthy at all . You'd have been better spunking your money on WBs imaginary 944 , repair bills would be less .
Seriously , hope it works out for you somehow , won't be holding my breath though .

O/S/R corner looks kippered in the eBay photos, that would have put me off for starters. That really is fked sadly, never buy a car blind. I've 'wasted' money on train tickets and fuel viewing cars that aren't as described. I even flew to Vienna to view a car!

Looking at the seller's feedback it would also appear that he writes it himself, given the number of times the same phrases crop up:

"pleasure to do business with"

"everything as described"
