I seem to recall the Audis were at 10% of the normal lease price. (Some places say upto 40%)I think there needed to be a token charge. Harry has had multiple RS models but has said he can’t drive like a dick because he is too recognizable. That’s what the bikes are for.

Where you there when MB infamously had Wayne Rooney as an 'ambassador'? Their extended family all had Mercs - his Dad's got nicked from a filling station.
I doesn't ring a bell with me and google suggests that MB signed a deal with him around 6 months after I left which probably explains why.

The only ones I can recall off the top of my head were Tim Henman and Gavin Henson/Charlotte Church (although Henson/Church weren't considered famous enough to be handed a new car and were given a secondhand ML instead!).

What the hell is being reflected in the side of this car??
Looks like a metro.
That looks like the overflow museum at Gaydon, so that metro is probably the one with the 6 cyl engine in it I saw in about the same spot when I was last there a year or so ago. Almost more interesting to walk around than the main block. I believe most are kept in running condition, which is why the LandRover is still leaking - added authenticity. smile

Manufacturers bid for the contract to supply the cars. I'm not sure that they are free or maybe just heavily discounted in return for the publicity and the potential enhanced resale value of an ex-Royal car (for example, the RR used by William to pick up George from the hospital was advertised for sale at 3 times the market value, no idea if it sold for that though).

Jaguar Land Rover has the contract currently, replacing Audi who supplied cars for several years to the Duchy of Cornwall (Charles). As the costs of William and Harry were picked up by Charles.....
I’d be amazed if they pay anything for the cars - especially the higher ranking Royals. I read an article a while ago about JLR’s VIP scheme and an amazingly wide range of celebrities and sports people get JLR cars.
A friend used to work at VWFS and he says that there were lease agreements in place for the Audis. whistle

Presumably this landaulet uses a 5.0-litre supercharged V8?

I just can't see the US President doing something similar to TRH HMQ and DoE somehow...

I wonder why...
