Surely at the next hearing point out

The company invoice is a Ltd company.
Take evidence of the company being registered for however many years
The statement made in court (where he lied)
Request the claim be dismissed with prejudice as the claimant is not the entity to whom the debt belongs?

I think this is getting too technical for what this hearing will be. Its just on balences of probabilities IIRC....

I still feel OP just needs to stand her ground that the original work was not done, she was alone with upset child & not wanting to argue with two plumbers stood in her hallway. Hence signing it off in the day, before engaging with them too resolve it via email.

Then show the evidence of trying to engage with them, whilst they continued with their bullying tactics, threats, lieing etc etc. Show them to be the unpleasant & deceitful individuals they are, but focus on their underhanded tactics which to the average Joe are beyond reasonable.

That will hold much more water then trying to win on acute legal technicalities.

I think that what OP (mangos) ought to do is exactly what BV72 tells her to do.

Allocation to Small Claims track came through the post yesterday. Court hearing date set at 11th July pending the claimant pays £55 hearing fee by 13th June.

The court has changed the claimant to Mr Plumber T/A IGM Plumbing & Heating.

Im wondering if this would be accepted in the hearing or if the claimant would still need to be down as the LTD company...
Any update on the situation, Mango? Any idea if he’s paid the hearing fee?

Court case was scheduled for next Thursday (11th), so I suspect nothing until then. (Encase plumber is reading this thread)

Did he pay the fiftyfive quid?

Even if the fee has been paid, there remains the question of whom the OP contracted with. The limited company or a sole trader?
If it was the former the claimant can't be Mr X trading as an individual.
What did the court change it from and why? Also, under what trading entity was the invoice issued?
The only published rates/T&Cs I can find are on the company website.
All the signs appear to be that they are a right bunch of horse herders who don't know their a**e from their elbow...

The lack of update on this makes me think the OP has settled. Hope not though.

I’ve been thinking just the same. She was getting nervous which is a shame as I think she’d have won.

March 1st was the last post by the OP, so far as I can see.

Mangos has been around on other threads but hasn’t updated this one which is a pity after several members have taken time to offer her advice.

Maybe there isn't anything to say until it gets to court in less than weeks time.

I expect she has been advised not to post anything on this topic.

Nonsense!! Mangos has been advised (quite rightly) to say no more until after. Further more, last off, Mangos was brickin it with nerves and this resurrection at this stage is NO help - leave it alone until OP is ready.
