I was surprised at the sentence to be honest. Judging by some of the comments on here I'd have expected a lot more than 3 months.

Sentence under review as 20 people complained. Would they be 20 people on PH by any chance....?

Hardly! The consensus on this board appears to be that prosecution for driving offences are entirely wrong and unjust.

Huhne & Pryce got 8 months apiece for their speeding matter so her sentence does appear excessively light.
He was also a legal professional - barrister - and eventually pleaded guilty.
At least he had the decency to resign - took the Chiltern Hundreds.

Yes, the minor difference was that his wife admitted it on tape if I remember rightly and was a little scorned due to him leaving her for his aid.

There are two factors at play, reverse racism and special treatment for women in these cases. Huhne ex wife has gone back into a high ranking government job as soon as she was out! If that was a guy would that happen? I doubt it!

In this case, she is claiming she is suffering from MS although she did not report this to the DVLA or present any medical evidence so she is playing the disabled card. Also being from a minority background and be a left wing crack not seems to buy you some additional clemency.

She is not held to a higher standard being an MP and trained solicitor, could she not of got better advice on how to conduct herself in the early stages or the investigation as you would be mistaken on think she had no legal training at all!

Slightly off topic, but Huhne is now the European CEO for an American Biofuels company - shipping wood pellets across the Atlantic to burn in heavily subsidised power stations.

The same subsidies that he helped instigate during his time as energy secretary...

I have a clean licence but have taken a speed awareness course two year ago so will have to add this points in the next 10 days! I did consider asking my mum now she is retired and never done a speed awareness course did she fancy doing one to keep my licence clean, but my mum wasn't in russia at the time and doesn't and won't do this sort of thing for anyone else.

Very odd there is no other thread on pistonheads about Fiona onasanya and I’m sure there used to be another much longer thread than this one? Perhaps I’m wrong. Anyway no real reason to bump this up so apologies if this is misplaced but I thought some might find it amusing

Love these responses.

"I thought your number one breakfast choice was porridge."

"I thought the idea of prison was to reduce the number of cereal offenders?"

She must have had the original thread shut down. Shame.

Between all the lies and deceit in court, hanging on to her MP salary for dear life till the bitter end, pretending she couldn't walk properly, and comparing herself to Jesus (and that's just for starters), it was a very entertaining read.

Some people think driving licences come from an upturned box of breakfast cereal?

All that from Huhne on 9 points not slowing down a bit.

I posted on a thread about her trial and its not on this one, so it looks that way.

Why not? Some of us subscribe.

Amazing heavy handed hysteria with PCoJ being used was absolutely outrageous! We are now living in East Germany under the Stasi.

Sorry about that. The stuff about the police officer altering what Judge Constance Briscoe said wasn't reported elsewhere.

There was definitely another thread on here quite recently as it mentioned the launch of her new book, I think she's used the EU's right to be forgotten law to get rid of the threads, imo if you're convicted in a crown court then I don't think it's acceptable to be able to purge history as it's part of the price of being convicted.

If this offence occurred 12 months later I doubt in the current climate she would get a custodial sentence.

Pistonheads Speed Matters, especially if you're a delusional, hypocritical MP and solicitor who thinks they're above the law.
