Glad it is done.

Put it as far behind you as you can as quickly as you can. No good can come from lingering on that stshow that they put you through

Enjoy a brighter future

Thanks and you are right, now is the time to put it all to bed and walk away. 4 years of anger and hate is just no good, onwards and upwards smile

The DMG are a bunch a uncaring tts. My problems with them pale into insignificance compared with yours however I’ll give my example of what they’re like. I’m on 3 year licences due to diabetes and need an eye test before they’ll renew. 4 years ago I’d had an amputation and they wrote stating I had x weeks to get this test done. I rang them to explain I was in no fit state to be taken anywhere let alone drive there. I had a deep 5 inch by 1 inch open wound in my leg. I asked if they could delay the test for a few weeks - guess what the computer said?

They said I could surrender my licence and reapply. Having heard Chilis story I thought no way as it would have been a risk I wouldn’t have got it back. In the end I had to go to a specsavers by wheelchair with a vacuum pump on my lap and two tubes sticking out my leg. To say it was uncomfortable was an understatement. I passed and retained my licence even though I didn’t drive again for over 6 months.

You've made the right decision chilli.

Hope you can enjoy the new TV and replacement for the MINI, expecting a What Car thread soon :-)

You can enjoy your Christmas without this hanging over you now.

Cheers. It's a bit odd at the mo as swmbo and myself have got used to going without for quite a while, but now this has finally been resolved it is taking a little while to sink in and we won't get to excited until I see the funds in the bank. We popped out and had a look at new sofas today ready for the new year, the staff said we could get the one we liked interest free over 4 years. I politely refused and said if we pop back we'd be paying the full amount on the day, that felt nice.
The icing on the cake was when we got home the Mrs had a HMRC letter on the doormat, and for the first time ever she got a bloody rebate, its funny how things can turn around.

elanfan, sorry to read that mate but not surprised in the slightest that the computer said no. They have no understanding of just what they are putting people through and its still going on to this day, they are a disgrace.

Best wishes mate.

What Car thread. Hopefully if I can get the deal I want I quite fancy the Seat Leon Cupra.
