garbage trucks now sporting big digital advertising screens on their side - I get the feeling if this was a boy racer with a tv screen on the side door panel, they'd be pulled over pretty quick - I had a quick look at legislation but couldn't specifically find anything against this:

is it seriously legal? I think i could argue it would cause white light to be visible from the rear , and red light to be visible from the front, depending on how they define 'from the front' and 'from the rear'

I'd love to know what their sales pitch is!

"Good morning Sir, would you like to associate your business and brand with trash?..."

Seeing as they go on about road safety all the time why are they allowed, also them big massive ones on the M5/M6. Very distracting.

Money talks I suppose, Brake should be shouting about this.

Static images are fine I believe. Moving images i.e. video only allowed whilst stationary.

I think it counts as auxiliary lamps.
One of our customers has mobile advertising vans... This is what they tell me.

Those ultra bright displays seen on the top of London taxis are incredibly distracting. Whichever moron sanctioned that deserves to be run over by a driver who was distracted by electronic advertising on a taxi...

The ones I've seen on buses are generally for missing people so all good in my mind.

Some of the massive ones on London buses are phenomenally bright.
