I pre-ordered the xbox one s and had the delivery notification whilst I was at work 2 years ago.

'Left with Kate at no.28'. Except only a bloke lived there and there was no one called Kate in the block.

When I got back I found the xbox was discreetly hidden under the doormat

You could of seen the address online.

If you phoned up and said a parcel is showing as delivered with a signature but it hasn’t been then all the managers do is find out what pda was used then they can see exactly where it was delivered.

So if it had been delivered wrongly they’d of known where it was actually delivered to .
Christ, I take it you work for the Royal Mail, I'm getting serious deja vu of the numerous conversations I had with them at the time.

The address they thought it had been delivered to was mine. I did phone up the sorting office several times and they were adamant it had been delivered to my address and they had no record of it being delivered anywhere else.

Clearly this is really upsetting you. If you want I can provide details via pm and you can take up a complaint on my behalf.

^^ This.

Nobody who worries about their own deliveries going missing, would put someone else's at risk. Its not natural behaviour.
Not sure where some of you live, but I'm more than happy for stuff to be left. It's much better than arranging a redelivery or trekking to the parcel depot.

It's not upsetting me just what your saying doesn't make sense.

When your postie gets your parcel signed for and presses delivered on the pda then it logs the gps where that pda was , so if he delivered it to your neighbour and your neighbour signed for it , then it would be simple to see it wasn't delivered to your address.

And what's the stop the postie standing outside your door, faking a signature and clicking the 'delivered' button on his PDA to 'prove' that he's delivered it to you?

It takes a special kind of dickwad to take in a parcel to prevent it being stolen, only to then go and (allegedly) leave it on your step where it is prime target for theft.

Neighbour is a moron or a thief.
Where did the neighbour say they took the parcel in to prevent it being stolen? confused :

I ordered some Gin online, I was out, Courier delivered it to the wrong house, we are no.1 he delivered it to no. 11.
I phoned company up and enquired where the item was, they said they would contact courier, and came back saying it had been signed for by no.11
I went round to no.11's and the chap said he only realised the mistake when he took the parcel inside to open it, and then on realising the mistake took it round to mine, rang the bell, nobody was in, so left it on the doorstep.

My gut feeling is neighbour has kept it (around £100 worth). Ive been in contact with seller and they are considering sending me some more at no cost but I am awaiting a call back from a manager.

Anything else I can do regarding neighbour? Sausages/lawn not needed!
The guy from No.11 (allegedly) opened the parcel, realised it wasn't for him, and so put it on the OP's doorstep - There's no mention of him taking it in to prevent it being stolen!

It takes a special kind of dickwad to read a post, and then criticise something that was never in the post! rolleyes

I had a client ship me 120 iPhones , due to them coming late I suggested he delivered to my house. I waited in but they didn’t show up , I called the delivery company and eventually got told we didn’t get an answer at your (went to wrong house) so we dropped them off with your neighbor frown , I legged it round at 10.30pm in a panic, he had them all stacked up in his hallway,
Old fella I’d never spoken too before, and he was telling me how he had to bring them in as it started raining , he didn’t have a clue what was in the boxes or the value, retail value of £70k sitting outside his house till it started raining

They had me scribble on a clipboard yesterday to sign for a neighbour as "the PDA wasn't working"........................parcel felt about the right weight and size for a decent tablet as well. So I did the honourable thing and opened it to Ebay it went round and put in my neighbours parcel locker (*), why postie didn't I'll never know.

(*) Note on neighbours door, "had to pop out Mr. Postman, please put expected parcel in locker if signature required and take note with you", Ta, Carol, Next door to Stan.

As this seems to be turning into a general whinge about deliveries, I had an Amazon missed delivery the other day. The card simply said, "left with one of your neighbours". Hmmm. Which of the many households on my road could that have been?

Anyway, if your neighbour opened the parcel (that wasn't addressed to him - which itself is potentially illegal) he would have realised that a bottle of gin isn't something you get at Poundland. So why did he put it on your doorstep knowing how valuable it was after initially agreeing to look after it before knowing how valuable it was - unless he happens to like gin? The least he could have done would be to have decanted out some cheap gin he had lying at home, filled the bottle with your gin and given you the cheap stuff in the original bottle beer

We had a weird one at work recently; a V5c hadn't turned up so the sender sent the tracking details, which confirmed if had been delivered, I looked it up online (Royal Mail), and it confirmed that it had been delivered to the correct address and signed for, however the name of the signee was a name that definitely didn't work for us, it had been delivered late morning so there would have been someone about within the building to accept it, we tried the flats upstairs; it wasn't them and we tried the other businesses near us and it wasn't them.

This was December and it we've still not seen it and we still have no idea who signed for it.

Are GPS' that accurate that they allow the system to determine exact address? (Especially in blocks of flats/ out-of-signal areas)

Neighbour across the road has a sign on their door saying that they don't accept parcels for others. Unwritten rule of the street currently is not to accept any parcels for them.

Generally without CCTV you are stuff OP. People do weird stuff - quite possibly he did leave it on the doorstep.

It's rare there isn't any signal as the pda's are dual sim , mine's normally on o2 but every now and then if flicks over to 3 .

All duty it's on 4g so it's constantly tracking where i am , where i was when i scanned parcels .

Absolutely, people will think your crazy/paranoid, but when a parcel goes walkies, and/or you've got a neighbour claiming they left it on your doorstep, at least you have some evidence.
