I live in Switzerland and the last thing we need is your failure to comply with the correct procedure.

You have committed a crime and now you must pay.

To not do so would be incorrect and you will not be welcome in a beautiful and well organized society.
I’m sure the op will be as influenced by that as I would. rolleyes

This may sound abit ambitious but what if I email them and tell them the car was shared by x amount of people and I can't pinpoint who the driver was. Would it still be my responsibility to pay the fine?

You clearly have no experience of Switzerland, the Swiss view speeding as purely selfish. The correct approach is if everyone drives the same speed, that way utilitarianism is preserved.

You didn’t understand my post.

I’ve been to and driven in Switzerland, but never lived there. You’re making a very ‘Swiss’ point of view, all very correct and strict.

I understand your point but in the op’s shoes and with no particular reason to return to the country I’d be tempted to do nothing.

Absolutely.

Switzerland, where it won't be the council that report and fine you for leaving your bin out, it will be your friendly neighbour of 30 years.
