Hmmm... bad error last weekend, even though I spotted the hairdryer-wielding BiB through traffic by the side of the road.

A3, NE-bound, 50mph limit (used to be 70) before Robin Hood roundabout. Scrubbed speed in subtle(ish) manner, as was my instinct. Must learn to be unashamed in my braking. Looked down at speedo; showed 54-55mph... so I suppose I MAY have been below 50 i.r.l. What I was doing before that was a safe speed but presumably was also what they were there to catch people for doing.

The question is... with a hair dryer, do they drive after you to pull you for speeding, or can they just issue NIPs through the post?

And if, as you drive past, you see the hairdryer-wielder momentarily speak into his car, is he likely to be asking his colleague "Did we get that one?"

Woe is me.

It all depends what the equipment was. Check out www.ukspeedtraps.co.uk/le850.htm under Speedtraps for further info.

Around my area, if there's a speedtrap where they pull you at the roadside, there's normally a pursuit vehicle and a couple of bikes standing by just in case someone makes a bolt for it. Did you see any of these ?

Either way, you'll know in 14 days. Hope you're in the clear..
