I'd not been on a package holiday until i met the OH, she arranges our summer holidays, we just agree a budget before hand.

We've been Rhodes, Lanzarotte x2 & we're off to Crete this year.

My stipulations are all inclusive, 45*, localish airport, good TA reviews, hot.

We've been twice to the same hotel (once in the summer holiday once out of it), we usually pay around £1500-1600 all in for both of us.

We've not had a problem at any of our previous trips, the one in holidays had a few more kids about, but not a huge amount, certainly not enough to put me off going back to the same place in the summer holidays.
The resorts are enormous so there's plenty for everyone to do & the food is always pretty good.

It's genuinely embarrassing. People in here need to give their head's a wobble. And even if the OP didn't spend a lot, who fking cares? Dude's having a bad time in what sounds unfairly represented accommodation and just wants some advice. Not a story about how you and your 16th century mum and dad only travel to the finest arts spaces in the world in your private plane or whatever pathetic, faux life you're trying to hint at.

Boils my piss.

Good luck OP I hope you get it sorted. I'm surprised how positive the TA reviews are in general. I wonder if it's been a very recent dive in quality.
Exactly This. Being in the now fortunate position of not having to drag kids on holiday, I remember the days when carting them somewhere on a budget was always a pain.

Referring to the OP, it sounds like your tour operator has misrepresented your accommodation. Not a surprise with TC, but hope you do get some decent family time on your hols.

If you’re paying about 750 per person a week for an all inclusive I t’s a bit unreasonable to expect to be sitting next to Nigel Havers and Stephen fry.
You couldn't pay me to sit anywhere near these two or any other showbusiness luvvies.

I remember the first holiday my girlfriend and I went on, it was an all-inclusive, to the West of Spain, in March. It was 18 degrees, rainy for most of the week we were there, and the activity we looked forward to the most was meal times, and when the bar opened. I've still got a photo somewhere of the swimming pool, in the rain, populated by a loan seagull.

The highlight as a british fat chav rubbing cooking oil onto her skin in a bid to get a tan....

Ah those were the days. Our outbound flight was delayed as they had to defrost the plane twice...

God people in here are so cringe. Doesn't sound like the OP is on a £110 per person per week deal. Get over yourselves.

yes

Couldn’t agree more.

Not everyone on here is a well built company director(believe it or not) and not everyone can afford to spunk £10k on a family holiday, myself included.

The OP asked for advice on complaining about this particular hotel, instead of any suggestions he’s slated for not spending “6 figs”(slight exaggeration but you get the point). fking mental.

Best of luck OP, I do hope you get a satisfactory result.

4200 for 6 of us. Lock on door gone 4 times now. Switch front fell off with bare terminal exposed. Luckily nobody touched it. Food is crap. I'd expect far better in a back street cafe. List goes on. Been kn touch with Thomas cook who want to help on my return.
Sorry, what were you expecting for that price?
I really, really struggle with this.

Mrs and I tend to go 4 or 5 star executive level rooms with lounge access (so all but all inclusive if you make full use of the lounge(i usually drink the extra cost on my own)) and could not imagine paying more than £1k per week. Granted this is to European destinations but the price some pay for a glorified concentration camp in the sun amazes me.

Must have been bad if they couldn’t even afford their own seagulls.
