Mis-spaces plate

Also it's hilarious.
About as funny as a Track Suited Chav walking about endlessly shouting wkER as loud as "it" can to everybody that sees "it" wherever "it" goes. The word "Nob" is not the key to the humour behind the Nob joke.
So, no, not hilarious.

Regarding my cars I am no different to anyone else who has always been a petrolhead with a great passion for driving and cars in general probably not unlike yourself and many on here. This is after all PH although to read some posts many appear to have lost their enthusiasm.
For the record I use all my cars on a regular basis, do frequent road trips and none of the cars are garage queens. I have always had a passion for decent cars and because I own them purely for the cars themselves unlike many who buy solely for the badge and rarely drive them, I fail to see what is vain or even aspirational about this.
Do you see any irony in owning a fleet of exotic cars and doing frequent road trips yet focusing most of your time on here sharing pictures of mis-spaced plates on other peoples very average cars? For the record I use all my cars on a regular basis, do frequent road trips and none of the cars are garage queens. Obviously you can and do conduct yourself in the way you want to and that is your choice but it seems to me that a petrolhead with a passion for cars would be more interested in sharing photos of great cars in stunning locations and making this forum a better more interesting place.

Being banned and making a second account certainly makes some people grumpy!
You must be very fun to be around what with being so bitter :-)

The most annoying thing I find is that these vehicles should fail an MOT right?
If so many MOT testers just ignore it because they cant be arsed, what else are they cutting corners on?
Most people, that have any common sense, will probably just change the plates pre MOT and then put them back on later on after the car has a pass.If so many MOT testers just ignore it because they cant be arsed, what else are they cutting corners on?
Although based on the main reg plate thread in GG, it would appear that there are owners / drivers that do forget and present the car at MOT time with the dodgy plate - as some of them tend to have MOT fails (some repeatedly year after year) listed against them.
Wow wow wow.
10 pages of bickering about a (admittedly, illegal) space on a number plate.
Let’s just take a look at this crime in all it’s glory again:
Well done plod on here for upholding the law. The law might be an ass but it’s there to be respected.
I don’t think that automatically means the OP is an ass, despite the sweeping generalisations for which he was in the firing line!
Have a good bank holiday folks; I hope all the spacing on the menus in the pub later are just right ;-)
If it’s not, please don’t come here to post all about as I’m not sure many people give a flying fkuck

We can get into a debate about "the reason" why they have to have a "standard" - the fact of the matter is that when the "rules" were made 30 years ago that the equipment is different (IE cameras etc).
So it makes NO difference to visibility if you don't have a space in a plate. It is simply a law for no reason. I agree stupid plates with weird characters, but a normal plate without a space doesn't hurt anyone and it's just an excuse to fine someone.
This is a very valid point. The systems used to check them (on-line, or ANPR, or whatever) do it by first removing all the spaces. Try it on Chris Evans' "FAB 1", which is probably "spacespaceFABsapcespace1space" on the car, but if you enter it onto the .gov enquiry pages as "FAB1" it will find it.So it makes NO difference to visibility if you don't have a space in a plate. (It has an interesting MoT history as well )

Obviously the plate on the Ford is unacceptable and ridiculous .
Also it's hilarious. The difference is that like a bad Christian you are implying your opinion is correct when in reality both of our opinions are correct, to us.

Funnily enough what you find funny isn't what everyone else finds funny.

What's funny about having "U TOSSA" as a number plate? The difference is that like a bad Christian you are implying your opinion is correct when in reality both of our opinions are correct, to us.
It's just offensive, there's no humour involved.
Why not just write "I'm a " across the back of your car? That wouldn't be funny either.

I'd just ignore him. Horribly miss spaced and tinted plates says a lot of people's mannerisms despite how he may defend it.
I had this story pop up on Google news on my phone the other day: https://www.express.co.uk/life-style/cars/1168934/... , and thought of this thread immediately - Good to see the police taking action against knobs with illegal plates!
Hopefully xjay1337 will have a similar experience soon himself - should make for an hilarious thread about how unfair it is!

In my opinion, you can deal with this whole argument in a sensible manner
1 - Tinted plates are harder to read. Fact. In the event of collision or criminal activity, this could make a difference. (I'm not saying everyone who has st plates is a criminal, it could even be something accidental or whatever).
2 - Same as above for incorrect spacing
3 - You can literally modify any part of a car, but people seem intent on doing plates. I've no idea why. Two reasons I can think of, firstly is just to give a middle finger to the law, and secondly, because you think it looks good. Taste and opinion is subjective, but i reckon 75% of people see an altered plate and think "knob".
That's basically it. We don't need 12 pages of discussion about it.
Me personally, I wouldnt drive around with something on the front and back of the car that says "please stop me, and fine me £100 officer", but each to their own.
