Just popping by to congratulate AV on writing a post without the word chav in it
Cheers bro :Really cba with an argument. But interestingly, I've run a mis-spaced plate for 11 years, multiple MOT providers and not failed or received an advisory once for it.
This is a highly entertaining thread for many reasons. Many truly laugh out loud moments throughout.
What I am fundamentally trying to understand are a few things:
1. Why on earth is AV so incensed about this topic when other people’s choices have absolutely no impact on him, nor to be honest, are any of his business?
2. Why is anyone who wishes to, shall we say stretch the law a little in terms of how they present their VRN, is instantly labelled a “chav” and is somehow a lesser person of questionable intelligence and taste etc etc for so doing? I mean, people do all sorts of things to personalise items in their lives, not just with cars, why is this so offensive to AV, or indeed anyone?
3. I find it hard to believe that AV has never broken a law in his life, I mean not one tincy wincy stupid technicality, such as maybe travelling along a motorway at say 80mph for a moment whilst conducting an overtake or some such...I mean you really would have to be absolutely Mr Perfect to justify sitting on such a massively high horse over such minor transgression as spacing on a Plate and being able to justifiably spout such vitriol in the direction of anyone that does so.
What is the point in being so very heated about this....apart from providing entertainment and seeking attention..ahhh, Wait, I get it now...

Its obvious, to 99.9% of the motoring public. What I am fundamentally trying to understand are a few things:

Reading the posts from a small group of people having an apoplectic hissy fit over people disliking their tragic attempts at art is pure comedy gold and gives us all a funny story to repeat down the pub.

But butchered and misspaced plates do more than 'stretch the law a little' and patently and quite deliberately cross the line in terms of illegalities on many levels entirely due to the fk the law attitudes of those who remove their legal plates and deliberately swap them for illegal ones solely in the name of vanity:Why is anyone who wishes to, shall we say stretch the law a little in terms of how they present their VRN, is instantly labelled a “chav” and is somehow a lesser person of questionable intelligence and taste etc etc for so doing?
