With extension rebellion and other protesters increasingly targating motorists I wonder what is the law if someone jumps out in front of your vehicle, or even if your on foot and someone blocks your way preventing you from going somewhere, what are your rights?

Above is a link of a guy trying to stop cars from using a road - although it is OK for cyclists. Obviously he is not a police officer in uniform so has no legal right to stop anyone. Would it be legal to move him out of the way?

That bloke who was climbing on top of the DLR and delaying it seemed to get a bit of a kicking from the commuters when they'd pulled him down. Not surprising when you ps off a thousand angry London commuters all at the same time..... who just happen to be using probably the lowest impact way of travelling home short of cycling.
He's a serial bell end and militant cyclist that does this all the time. Yes, the Volvo driver is completely in the wrong but this knob says he's not breaking the law but in fact he is by obstructing the traffic legitimately using that carriageway. Two wrongs etc. I honestly hope he picks on the wrong person one day.

They should have just left him up there, let the passengers get on the train, and then driven off with him on the roof - Evolution (and subway engineering) would soon have shown him it was a dumb thing to do (for a split second - After that, he wouldn't bother anyone ever again!)Same deal with the guy who glued himself to the roof of the plane - They should have said to him: "Best of luck with that idea!......here we go!", closed the doors, taxied down the runway, and then:
People gluing themselves to roads? - A line of trucks at 56mph should sort that out.
People gluing themselves to buildings? - Leave them there. Eventually, evolution, nature, and the climate will teach them that it was a dumbass thing to do!
These ideas would really test the commitment of these protesters: "Are you prepared to die for the cause?.....Let's find out!".
And let's be honest here, throughout the centuries, campaigners have loved having martyrs who die for the cause!

This bloke regulary stands on this specific corner waiting for people to do exactly this so as to make a youtube video/point. I've seen multiple videos pop up. Appreciate the motorists are doing something wrong. But, seriously... there must be another hobby out there.Above is a link of a guy trying to stop cars from using a road - although it is OK for cyclists. Indeed. Kenneth Noye was released in June.....Nothing makes me more pleased than these tossers getting their just desserts - particularly those on the DLR.
Waste of oxygen the lot of them, we have them at the fracking site to deal with near me (Preston) - they all get angry when I blip the V8 many times as I sit in the traffic they create

You can use REASONABLE force to prevent a crime. That would be a pretty low level of force to prevent highway obstruction.
Isn't that what the demonstrator is doing? He's stopping a car ignoring a keep left sign. He's right in what he says. It's open to argument whether he's doing it the right way.

I had this thought the other week when Extincton Rabellion (sic) were in the news along with the tragic death of Harry Dunn at the hands of a woman claiming diplomatic immunity.Considering how much in parking and driving fines are uncollected by diplomatic staff at embassies in London, why not get them to 'work off' the fines by running over those tts blocking the roads. They have Diplomatic Immunity so can't be prosecuted. Win:Win:
What exactly is the law regarding driving on the opposite side of the road? Many people do it when parking. I can see there is a division in the middle of the road which likely has a keep left sign but if there is no sign then what exactly is the law against driving on the opposite side? If there is no solid line and it’s safe then you always overtake on the opposite side too on a single carriageway.
Also as an example of how these XR fools keep blocking the roads for drivers who are abiding by the law then what is the law regarding removing these XR protestors? If some protestor steps in front of you to block your way and verbally asking them to move does not work then can you physically force them off the road?

Of course you can, but be prepared to find yourself in court. Derek Smith said:

Well its OK if your on a cycle, see cyclists doing exactly that in the video, would it be OK if it was a motorcycle as I often see people on motorbikes 'filtering' too, if it is OK on a cycle and motorbike why not in a car? He's right in what he says. It's open to argument whether he's doing it the right way.
