Don't understand some of the resentment to the OP here. A couple of spots of oil is the sort of thing you get a bit annoyed about, give a spray with some light degreaser and wash down and get on with your life. If it was genuinely pissing oil then I'd be wanting them to fix it too; and I get on with my neighbours just fine. I know what the OP means about being a nuisance on the phone, a lot of people whose job involves a degree of travel get a lot of time to complain and argue tedious points with people in the car that is otherwise unproductive; a prospect that is very different to being at home, with your family and sat on the drive on your own scrubbing someone else's filth up.
Err the op is getting resentment because going by his op it is on the road not his property

And?
Its a large pool of it 10" from my driveway.
there is no pavement on my street, and its right where its going to get trailled in to mine, and its slippy. Anyone who doesn't like it can away and take a fk to themselves.
I guarantee not one of you would be this wide face to face, but everybody is a smart behind a keyboard.

Oil absorbing granules would clear the oil but will still leave a stain.
I had a 3 year old ford transit dump all its oil in a hotel car park done the trick

Can't imagine why your getting replies like you are...

Thank god your not a keyboard warrior yourself eh??!! smile

Just clean up as best you can if you have time. If not, call the council to sort out...

And relax smile

Maybe your courier company doesn't know about one of its vans p1ssing oil? I'd phone them up and let them know. you may be doing them a favour!
As for the oil, i'd use some sawdust and then clean the rest with hot soapy water.

Into the tarmac now though? So that'll be seeping out for ages?

Sawdust will be difficult this time of year, damp air, rain... After a good clean then sand on it for grip and tell the council may be best.

Coca Cola brings oil up. Pour it over, let it sit for a bit then scrub off with a brush.

Used it many times without fail.

cement works well but not sure if it would stain the blocks, anyway, I'm not planning on doing it myself, its not my mess.

Having never been through something like this before what is the chances of them sending someone out to clean up their mess, and if I get nowhere what is my recourse?
Have you had time, between all the macho posturing because you didn't get the "u ok hun?" answers you seem to have needed, to call the courier yet? If so, what has been their response?

It seems most responders here have moved forward to the clean up, perhaps suggesting a lack of confidence in the company stepping up.

I wasnt looking for sympathy, I was looking for a sensible answer, maybe from someone who experinced the same. No macho posturing, just me being me, go elsewhere if you dont like it.
If you read the thread you would see I have already contacted them and had a vauge promise.
