Red light camera and NIP question
Discussion
Hi guys,
Anyone able to tell me if this is a red light camera and if it has a flash?

I haven't seen a camera like this before, and worried I may have gone through on red last week. I hesitated and slowed down thinking it was a speed camera, would've comfortably got through on amber if not, didn't notice a flash but it was a bright day.
On Waze this camera shows as a red light camera.
Second question is how long on average does it take for a NIP to come in the post? I know they have 14 days but should i be feeling a bit more at ease now that 8 days have passed?

No idea if it is a red light camera however are you the registered keeper of the vehicle? It is the registered keeper that has to receive any NIP within 14 days. There is (effectively) no time limit for NIPs to anyone else.
If it's a company car or is on finance/PCP you probably aren't the RK and there is someone ahead of you in the chain which could mean a few weeks of waiting. Even if you are the registered keeper there are also some other situations such as having moved house and not updated your V5 or if you've recently bought the car which could mean that a NIP is legitimately delayed..

These are the ones in Derby. Can't find the link to the website about them.

Yeah looks almost identical. Only difference is my one has two black circles on top of one another half way up the post. Not sure what that is.A601

The Derby ones have 4 x infrared illuminators on a post a bit closer to the traffic lights. I think that's what your 2 black circles are.
How bright do they flash mate? Would you notice them in broad daylight?9 days down now. Don't know whether or not I should be feeling positive or not? stting it tbh

Plenty of money available for all these cameras everywhere to obtain a higher rate of 'compliance'. But no money for hospitals and nurse. I despaire.
Quite happy for money to be spent on red light cameras. If they did more of that in my local area they wouldn't need as many nurses.I hesitated and slowed down thinking it was a speed camera, would've comfortably got through on amber

I know, I was worried about being late though so wasn't being sensible. For the benefit of the OP:

It's almost been 2 weeks now so I'm just praying I can reach the weekend without anything in the post. This has put the sts right up me so my lesson has been learnt anyway. Fingers crossed.
