Insurance Question
Discussion
Daughter is coming back to the UK next week, she lives and works in India (last two and a half years). She will be staying with us till April (second child) but would like to have her own runaround while she’s here. Car will be registered at my address, would there be any issues with her getting UK insurance for it? She has had her own UK insurance in the past and accrued 3 or 4 years no claim bonus, but I imagine that will have lapsed by now.
She may be lucky, and find the odd one that times NCD out at three years, but you might be better going via a broker than a meerkat to find them.
Shouldn't be a massive issue using your address, but she may find not being ordinarily resident an issue. Don't expect smooth or cheap sailing, and be scrupulously honest with the answers.

No probs. Don't suppose a CLK200 from North Lincs would suit?
Sorry mate, they have now bought a 2009, 1.2 Corsa as a temp runaround, although Son in Law did mention he would of preferred the MercAnother insurance question. Could I insure the car on my multi car policy and have them as named drivers? Originally I was going to add them to both mine and the wife’s car as their both in their thirties and experienced drivers (would have to be as they both drive in India) so cost wasn’t that much.
