It might appear petty too you but to me it’s an issue & a matter of principal.
Sometimes its worth doing something on principal if you can cost the other side more time/money than you'll need to waste yourself to cause them the losses. If you're going to waste more then its not principal, its cutting your nose off to spite your face.

If you force them to send someone out for this "repair" as you call it, what's the loss to the company? time taken to/from your house, a bit of diesel and 5 mins in your house laughing at you while he puts the legs back on.

Whats it costing you? Right now you're spending your Sunday afternoon sitting on the floor, arguing with people on the internet because of it. Every reply is telling you you're being a stubborn fool, I think you should probably start listening.
Firstly I’m sat in the pub & frankly I don’t give a st.

The sofa legs are crap & that has been my point all along. I simply want what I paid for. A sofa with legs & not stty pieces of crap plastic.

Maybe I am being stubborn however as previously said it’s the principal. Supply shi5 goods & i5 should be sorted under the manufacturers warranty.

That’s all I want. I don’t want compo, a free footstool, free whatever. I just want what I paid for. Which I haven’t got.

Simple really.
So you now want a sofa with better then original legs or just replacement original legs fitted?
Read what I said. All I want is the correct legs that are not broken fitted correctly. Nothing else. No compo. No free stuff. Nothing. Just a Sofa that does not have broken feet.

Not much to expect is it?

The sliders are on the bottom of the feet - and they don’t work because the feet are broken (smashed) as per the photo I posted earlier.

As for being pathetic - whoever said that. It’s your opinion. And you are entitled to it. Doesn’t make you right though does it?

It's not ideal, but you've wasted a day on here getting all wound up and angry about it. You'll spend even more time chasing up the company and then waste another day being at home for someone to come screw feet on.

It's a lot of hassle for something with an easy solution. It's not worth it.
I’m not angry or wound up. Been in the pub. Leicester & the red ‘biggest club in the world’ lost today, Leeds got beaten yesterday so all is good.

Tomorrow is another day.

Did you not watch them when they were unwrapping it and putting the feet on or do you always take everything at face value.
Feet were already on when it was delivered. How many people check the feet of a new sofa? I checked the sofa itself. All was good.

Basically, you got bolted up for a st sofa from a shed.

Suck it up and fit the feet.
That is exactly what I intend to do tomorrow. Probably.

I presume the sofa, when you viewed it in the showroom, had the stty pieces of plastic as feet. You therefore accepted those stty pieces of plastic as an integral part of the sofa when you decided to purchase said sofa.

Now due to you or someone else breaking them, you now want a sofa with legs rather than the stty pieces of plastic the sofa was sold with and displayed with and you agreed to buy with.

You now unilaterally want to change the terms of sale where you want different legs and I presume you’re not willing to pay any more for different legs.

Get over yourself and buy some proper legs from a furniture supplier and get them fitted yourself if you really want them.
I said I didn’t want pieces of crappy plastic - I want legs/plastic or whatever that aren’t broken.

What you have said is a play on words.

Nothing has been said by the retailer regarding paying for different legs & it’s not something I had even thought about.

The legs on mine are the same as those in the store.

I’m not trying to change any terms of sale.

So you say the feet were on when delivered.... but your picture shows the feet now in BROKEN BITS...! confused what does that tell us....?
Broken I assume when delivered. All I know is that there is no way I broke them. Don’t have the strength to break feet simply by trying to slide the sofa a mere 8 inches.

Which should have been easy because of the sliders on the bottom of the feet.

It has been over 24 hours now you have had a sofa you cannot sit on because of the broken legs, and you still are too bloody minded to spend five minutes fitting the replacements so you can actually sit down?

Is that why you are at the pub, because they somewhere to sit?
Like i said earlier. It’s the principal. I have damaged goods. Simple as.

Always spend Sunday in the pub. Got sod all to do with the sofa being a tad broken.

What's a slider? Did this come with the sofa or did you add them?

Felt pads or something low friction to move the sofa around?
Sliders are exactly that - low friction pads.

Paid for by me when i ordered the sofa & fitted by the store to ease movement of the sofa.

Useless on carpet. Great on wooden floors which is what I have. Or so I thought.

I wonder if a stroke can be brought on by a certain attitude to life. I wouldn’t know, because I seem to naturally avoid having that attitude.
I sincerely hope that you do not have a brain tumour which led directly to me having a stroke because if you ever suffered as I did you would realise just how much of a tt you are with your inane comment.

Today I have attempted to fit the newly supplied feet/legs.

This is the state of one of the screws. Bent. Which cannot be caused by merely moving the sofa.

Two others are as bad as this with the fourth being almost straight.

After speaking again to the store they have agreed that the state it was delivered is far from acceptable & they have agreed to replace the whole unit as a gesture of goodwill.

As far as I am concerned that is the end of it. Never stressed. Never stroppy. Regardless of what some of you appear to think.

The supplier isn’t showing any hint of proper help, so send it back
But he's signed for and excepted the goods delivered am undamaged.... so they won't except a return hence the replacement legs.....
How many of you clever buggers would inspect every single leg???? And 8 never asked for a replacement. Today that I what I was offered & happily accepted.

And believe me I will check every inch before I sign for the replacement.

It was a deliberately provocative comment, because you seem, at times, determined to make the pain last longer.

Top Tip Today: if you know it all and/or want to ignore well intended advice, don’t fking ask in the first place. Life’s too short. As you are probably more than aware.
I had every intention of changing the feet. Eventually.
