The op is, perhaps unsurprisingly on here, getting a bit of stick from some posters.

However - it is dishonest and it is theft. It is irrelevsnt how much has gone missing.
I'd be pissed off too.

I'd hold off reporting to the police at the moment. See how you get on with the dealer. Take it from there.

And if he does not call you then call him.

Whoever stole the money needs sacking. No ifs and no buts. Whether the offender can be identified is another matter.
This

And to be fair to ging he didn’t say theft was good, just that he might be a thief hehe

Anyone else tries to saying I think or i am saying that I condone theft or think theft is acceptable I'm clicking the report button, this is harassment
Waaaaa! I said I'd have nicked it too but then everybody realised that's what I was saying and I realise how stupid I look.

Go on, push the button. This should be funny.

Main dealer service totally negates theft then, right ho.

I've seen some absolute rubbish posted on here, this is right up there with the best of it.

' Hello, police, Id like to report a theft'

'Ok sir, What has been stolen ? '

'£2 '

'Right, I see..Would you like to prosecute ? ... Do you have any proof ............. '

This Is a joke thread, right. Or do some people live in such a bubble, they really have nothing else to worry about?

Do you make an insurance claim if you drop a quid down the sofa?

Still needs recording, where do you draw the line?

Your sofa comparison is also up there with the utter BS seen previously.

Can I come and help myself to some of low value items of your property?

Oh and the second time you took the car in, and put coins in the ashtray, it was ENTRAPMENT.

Is there a law against entrapment?

It wouldn't be entrapment anyway, so no need to worry.

By your tough guy 'accident' comment I presume you wouldn't want low value items of your stolen, so how is that different to the OP? Except hes not making daft comments about 'accidents' of course.

You’re a a bit late to the party. You also appear to have only skim read the numerous posts, including a large number where the OP and others have concentrated on and debated the moral issues of the theft and reporting of the matter to the garage in question, rather than the police. Still, why let matters of detail get in the way of your mini-rant

Indeed, you can record it online if so wished.

It is not ENTRAPMENT.

Can you let me know what your plans are for the weekend ?

I'd just like to follow you around, have a look through your pockets when you're not looking, hopefully your wallet, maybe your Missus' handbag and purse too.
Obviously, I'll help myself to whatever I feel like taking.

After all, in your world, this is completely normal and acceptable and is not a crime.

Cheers.

Ah yes, but expect to be in an 'accident' if you take any items though.
