I got done in that same location 3 years ago.

Here's a copy of the representations that I submitted at the time...
Well, did you get off?
That does seem to be the bit missing from the post......

As above, avoid driving in Londonistan at all costs.
A bubbling hotpot of every crime imaginable plus the very real possibility of being stabbed or shot while out shopping.
Plus..obviously being a complete st hole.
We remain happy to continue to subsidise the rest of the UK. You're welcome.
Ahh that old myth! Oh well, if it keeps you all in the toilet, carry on!
Easily done I think you confused math and myth.

It's a weird response isn't it? scratchchin

The Statement: "I got done in that same location 3 years ago" would seem to suggest that the: "representations" were not successful.

However, if that was the case, why bother posting the: "representations"? confused

If the: "representations" were successful, why not post: "Here's how I got off from being done at that same location 3 years ago"

(TBH, reading through the: "representations", I can't feeling that they were a complete waste of time. For example, one of them seems to suggest that, as Mandat's car was less than 7.5 tons, all road restrictions did not apply to his car, including the keep left signage at the width restriction!)

As for all those complaining about this width restriction - It's blatantly been put in place to stop local drivers of large cars/SUV's/vans/lorries/trucks from using this road as a rat-run/short cut.

I'll bet the residents and locals got fed up meeting head on with a large vehicles coming the other way, taking up all of the road, causing a complete blockage every day.

Well as various governments have nationalised the assets of the North (coal and steel) it is only reasonable they pay for the results.

If common sense was allowed, then appeal it.

The system is there to stop wide vehicles going through, ie, HGV's, to keep them from side streets. You can still pass that street as your car is <7'2" so you are not their target audience.

But wait, common sense? Islington Council.....nah, forget it.

Far too many signs in London to be able to digest as your driving, one momentary lapse of concentration, or indeed focusing on a real danger - ie, driving safely around kamikaze cyclists etc and this s**t can happen to many. Ka-Ching!

Maybe worth a post on Pepipoo to see if any other avenues?

Pretty sure nationalised coal and steel was not a huge earner for HM gov.
You do know the government only works in London don't you? Naturally, as they get the choice, they do as its such a pleasant and glorious place to live. wink But they get elected by people from all of the UK and are the government of the whole UK. Which is good news for the rest of the UK - It's the good citizens of London & The South East who work more effectively, and pay more in taxes than they get out so those from elsewhere don't have to. That's without all the businesses who also are based there.
If you are upset by the unfairness of it all, by all means push for independence from the yoke of the South East. We would then need to pay no income tax whilst the rest of the UK would make Greece look like Qatar. wink
