I sent off my paperwork to remove a plate on 28/5 and the online vehicle enquiry showed that the plate was taken off yesterday. This should give anyone that needs to know the sort of timelines DVLA is working to at present.
Not really, they've had my documents since mid April

Just to close the loop for the complete timeline:

1st Monday - Bought registration from DVLA online
1st Thursday - Received certificate, went online and applied it to my car, got confirmation by email, replaced number plates and informed insurance company
2nd Monday - Received new V5C

Has anyone had any joy with the DVLA actioning paperwork that's been sent?

I sent a V62 8 weeks ago, still nothing, just trying to gauge timescales as their CS won't acknowledge any kind of order that their working through the incoming post.

Bought van in May, online says V5 changed in 7/7. Still waiting for v5.

Bought plate for van and the cert came through in about 3 weeks.

New licence within a week of application. Applied online due to snapping the damn thing in half!

Sent V5, Heritage Certificate, MOT, V62 and covering letter for build date change, reclassify as Historic and refund of 5 months VED from April 1st early March.

Received V5 4 weeks ago, 2 months VED refund 3 weeks ago and still no return of any other docs despite SAE supplied at the time.

If you manage to get through on the phone to them, they insist any questions have to be by post - not good enough in my view

Finally spoke to someone at the DVLA at the end of last week as there was still no sign of my licence. They sent me a replacement D1 form and gave me a "key worker" address to send it to (I hate that term). I added a covering letter and posted it Monday at 1600, it was received by DVLA 0730 on Tuesday and the replacement one arrived on the post this morning (Wednesday)

16 weeks I was waiting, yet the second form was turned round the same day.

Should have ticked the "I've lost it" box and kept it.

Just to update on my situation, my V62 was received and a replacement v5c sent out.

It took a total of 8weeks and 1 day, from sending the file to receiving it back.

All things considered I didn't think that was too bad.

By this stage I can't see how they aren't operating at a higher capacity. Most other contact centres have implemented new routines to improve service despite social distancing. In this online age, saying post only enquiries is rediculous. If people home working can't answer email, how are they going to get post to read and answer? they wont.....

The only logical conclusion is DVLA are deliberately not restoring services as a cost cutting measure.

Well, they sold my details to parking eye quick enough for them to turn around an invoice in 4 days.

Pretty sure it was an issue with their automated system and the hotel said they’d get them to cancel it. I’m still aggrieved enough that I’ll now sorn my weekend car until next year which will cost them way more.

Your anger would be better directed at all the bell ends who park irresponsibly and/or never pay.
If not for them, there wouldn't be an parking enforcement companies ever created.

You just got caught in the cross fire.

My 16 year old son applied for his provisional licence end of July. Recieved an application for further details (passport etc) and I returned that recorded delivery which they recieved (signed for) on August 3rd. Still waiting for any update. Was a bit concerned so called them the other day as online status said 'awaiting return documents'. Girl on phone assured me if it has been signed for by them then it will be dealt with at some point but couldn't give me any idea when. Frustrating as it's his birthday next week and was planning on booking him some lessons.

That's because other government agencies and companies who buy or pay for data access are considered "customers" and as such get a better service. License holders are not customers.

That's a good result.

I'm still waiting for a V5 from a car purchase in March. In July I sent a V62 in with the green keepers slip. Today I got this letter:

Wrote to the DVLA regarding me still being charged the tax on a car I wrote off in September 2019.

Sent the letter at the beginning of August.

Called them at the beginning of this month, was told they have the letter. Haven't received anything since or heard anything from them.

Been trying to call them since about midday today, continual "Line Busy" responses when calling the number.
