There was another thread a few weeks ago having a rant at DVLA for having the temerity to not be immune to this virus. Quite what Mr Angry above is going on about is beyond me. Pretty much every business out there will be working on skeleton staff and prioritising what needs to be done over what some want to be done. Quite why this ranter thinks that paperwork at the DVLA is so important when the country is on its knees beggars belief.

Ironically, I’m sure many people are also using their own spare time to catch up on old paperwork, that they couldn’t be bothered doing earlier. The OP is a good example of that.

I moved house 3 weeks ago and sent off my licence and V5 to DVLA straight away. Got my licence back about 3 days later but still waiting on the V5.

Can you both clarify, you sent them off in the post or applied online and got back in the post?

Good news if sent off in the post.

Sent both the licence and V5 in the post. Still no V5 today, though.

Edit: actually, just remembered that the licence was done online. You have to cut up your old licence and post it back which is what I remembered. But the form was online. The V5 really was done by post (no online component).

The online side appears to be working very well. I switched a couple of plates around last Friday, got the new V5's on Tuesday.

I had to change my address with the dvla online, got my new license in the post maybe 3 days later, and this was only last week. Maybe they just don't like the ranty poster above laugh

I had to send in my photocard DL to get my new category put on it. This was two weeks ago, during the CV19 lockdown. Had it back within the week.

I bought a car late March (3 days before lockdown). Still not received the V5. I got confirmation of my car that I sold to WBAC in the post (1 day before lockdown) about a week after.

My license expired 27th April, sent away that day from the PO (online wouldnt work), still not got it back.
Got a V5 change and a V62 reg doc request also outstanding frown

Looks like we are waiting a while then.

What else have people sent in (by post) and had bad returned during lockdown.

I sent in an older style V5 document for a classic car purchase just after lockdown (after phoning pre lockdown to check it was OK to use), but nothing received back yet.
