Yeah. Can you suggest a better way to pay when sending via form?

For all the rolling smileys, they have obviously never had to apply by post to pay for a process at DVLA. You can only send a cheque.

I've recently switched bank accounts and was advised that a cheque book isn't needed. I disagree, and I've now got one, you never know when you may need one. Like when online banking and money transfers crash, which has happened ......

Yes, the online side is working really well.

I got an MOT on my car yesterday and when I got home I realised the expiry date was wrong.

But from past experience I know the test centre cannot alter dates so I e-mailed the DVLA and had a new certificate with the correct expiry date before 10.00 am this morning!

Hilarious!

The whole World has been hit by a potentially fatal virus, resulting in a World-wide disruption, the likes of which hasn't been seen since World War 2.

Everyone has been told to stay at home wherever possible, avoid going out as much as possible, and to work from home if they can, and yet people on here think the DVLA should just ignore all of that, all be at work, carrying on as though nothing is happening, and provide the exact same service, to the same level, as they did before the virus struck!

Bet they are all off on full pay.
Based on what exactly? - Some stupid, petty, childish guess? confused
Hmrc/DVLA are govt institutions, they SHOULD be open. None of them are 'working from home as there's absolutely no service, there'll be furloughed on full pay sitting on their arse doing fk all. There's millions working with social distancing in place, there's absolutely no reason DVLA staff can't be at work, all it takes is gloves, a mask and a screen.
Useless lazy fat desk jockeys the lot of them..

What a load of rubbish, both are open, HMRC's service is good, just like always in my experience. DVLA is slower but still open.

Yup, but do not let that get in the way of the standard know-nothing rant of the entitled PH'er!

Ignorance at its finest, the organisations are working, those that can work at home are working at home just like any other. Other functions such as printing do require and have people on site.

There is prioritisation of work such as haulage, emergency service, military and essential drivers. You also have to realise that other services such as medical licensing depends on external factors such as the NHS, I wouldn't expect many people to suggest that DVLA testing and form filling should take priority over clinical care at present

Daily Mail headline thread title doesn't help. Read headline, take it as read, have rant, then read the opening paragraph which supports the premise of the headline, rant further. But if you read the whole article the detail then contradicts, nullifies and reverses the presupposition and actually the complete opposite is true, if you get that far. It's classic Daily Mail.

I'm a key worker and have been working all the time.

My question is my company vehicle is due an mot at the end of june. The garage that does it (main dealer) is shut. Do I carry on as usual as mot tests have been posponed? Or do I refuse to use it until it can be mot?

Your MOT expiry date will be extended by 6 months.

You can either have the vehicle tested within one month of the new expiry date, or you could find another MOT station who can test it next month.

Both of the above appear preferable to refusing to drive the vehicle, especially where there are seemingly little grounds for doing so.

I just used the Gov MOT checker as my Moho MOT was due 15th May and the checker now says its due the 15th November.

Whilst I knew that the Gov had extended them by 6 months I was surprised to see their MOT checker had been updated as well. Fair play.

That never happened, because according to the parlour room gobstes here, DVLA are closed and all the staff are bathing in champagne with supermodels while laughing at you, the poor taxpayer.
