And yet here you are asking for advice, because your way of running your life has got you into a situation you don't need to be in.

People in glass houses really shouldn't throw stones.
It hasn't though has it as I've payed the debt. This is the issue.
If you'd paid with a card you'd have proof, so yes it has actually.
Unless you have a time machine I can borrow your not being very helpful are you. I've said I have plans to sort out a card with one of my accounts as a back up. Any advice how to deal with setting tesco straight is apreciated.

Genuine question, how do you get your money out of the bank if you haven't got a card?

Not only do I find not carrying a card of any sort weird I'm also amazed people checking their emails is like a weekly event.
Do you not even have a smartphone? When I say smart I mean anything since Tony Blair was PM.

Emails, SMS, push, whatsapp, they all come up instantly on mine and you can deal with then as you wish.
This whole thing is quite bizarre.
Quite common for me, even though I used to work in IT - can't be bothered with modern technology for the most part. My mobile is my business as a driving instructor, but if I have a few days off its common for me to realise after a couple of days that I haven't looked at my phone. First text I ever sent was 2013 at the age of 39...

Twenty odd years ago when the media coined the phrase 'always on generation' (now dead and forgotten I suspect), my attitude was 'b*llocks to that' and it hasn't changed...smile

Still - I do use bank cards (just not contactless - always return those and get a proper card sent out).

Apologies if you did mention this, If you want help you really need to clarify.. Have you actually discussed it with tesco and what did they say?
Go in store to the customer service desk (that's what I did when the exact same thing happened to me, with tesco, who have carbon copies of the form you will have filled in and maybe it will be marked paid)
Tesco were v e r y accommodating.

This is attached to all the pumps at a local jet petrol station. If you can’t pay £100 fine which you agree to pay.

I just laughed when they turned up. Spoke to the manager and said last time I buy fuel here. When I explained the signs he seemed to think it was acceptable that if you had to leave to collect funds it was okay to fine/invoice you for the privilege. True to my word I have never been back since.

People make honest mistakes and charging someone £100 extra on top of the fuel is bks. I’m not sure how enforceable it is.

Am wondering if Tesco may have a copy of the payment on record? If you can remember the actual date and time you paid, it may be easier still to get it all confirmed.

I am presuming at the end of the day all transactions are noted and added, stored for a certain amount of time?

Given that they suggest that you are giving them data rights simply by entering the land but later state that you enter a contract when you enter land and dispense fuel .. i think they are crossing into wibble.

It's the earlier bit from the OP about not wanting a card because he doesn't like the fact that "the world seems intent on everything being electronic" which is quite funny. Especially as a few posts later, the OP then mentions the suggestion from another poster about using his smartphone / Google Map app tracking as a way of proving he was at the petrol station hehe

So totally against using an "electronic" form of payment, which they believe is too modern (even though payment cards really aren't nowadays) but perfectly fine using a smartphone to pinpoint / track his location instead laugh

OP - you could have even used the phone to make the payment if you had the right app - oops, sorry hehegetmecoat

I imagine the margin on fuel is very low that a few of these a day could make a big impact on profit and loss. We should have a system like in the USA you pat before filling up.

I dont get why people are getting so hung up over this. I prefer using cash, is that really so unbelievable? I havent said I'm totally against electonic payment. I'm not, it's just not my preference.

To the person questioning how I get my cash, i go in branch every month ish and draw out cash.

Really how?

Thank you.

I am not old, weirdo is subjective I guess. Dont know why this has turned into personal insults. Ive asked for helpful suggestions in resolving the matter, not to have my life critiqued. Very narrow minded bunch you lot. Would appreciate if this can stay on the topic of the helpful advice I've asked for. Doubt it will though somehow.

Then stop avoiding the obvious question!
Have you been to have a nice chat with the lovely people behind the customer service desk at tesco?

I'm no Freeman nutjob. It works for me except for a rare occasion like this, I'm not against cards this is just how my life is working at the moment. I'm going into the petrol station this afternoon, only became aware that this was an issue this time yesterday and this isnt the only thing happening in my life.
