Ever driven on an autobahn?
won't someone please think of the children!

seriously in this country it does seem pretty daft, filming yourself moreso then making it public..... that said the M-way does seem quite empty

I mean theres driving down the m23 doing 200, then theres doing it and filming it, but then theres also doing both of those with ONE HAND on the steering wheel.

Jesus! , its not the speed that frightens me its the fact he's doing it with one hand with the other filming it.
And the fact at the end he spends a good few seconds zooming in to make sure it reads the speed on film so you can bet for that period he was looking at the phone not the road.

At that speed 5 seconds is about a quarter of a mile without looking at the road.
We don’t know that he was filming it himself do we. Couldn’t there have been someone in the back seats filming?

If it's not the driver filming, why do we never see his right hand, even right at the start of the video when the camera swings round from a view of the driver's side door card to the the dash?

The car is the least of the problems in that video! Clearly very well engineered as it needs sod-all control to keep it pointing the right way at that speed. Amazing really, when you look at an F40 or late-80s supercar trying to crack the double ton it looks like it's pant-sttingly tricky.
No surprise thats RS Audis for you. rolleyes

Minimal driver input or skill required and as soporific to drive at 201 mph as they are at 30 mph.

Hence the perfect car for your average granny or young innit bruv scrote to twoc.

Thing is, he probably thinks he can get away with it being that the footage has nothing to identify the car or driver.

Wonder what the chances are that he passed someone with a dash cam though? Of course, he may not give a st if its running false plates.

Talking of plates, i wonder if the front would legitimately blow off at those speeds scratchchin

Eh? Are you suggesting that Audi just plonked a BFO fire breathing engine into standard A6 with no thought given to the rest of the bits that are needed to make it go, steer and stop? Stupid driving aside, I'm quite sure the brakes and the tyres are perfectly 'up to the job'.

This always seems to be the standard quote when anything like this comes up. And as always it has no rellavance. All UK roads have speed limits. Most German roads have speed limits.

Looking at the Audi RS6 configurator ( https://www.uk.audi.com/uk/web/en/models/a6/rs-6-a... ), the car is limited to 155MPH as standard. There is then an option (for the measly price of £1555) to raise it to 174MPH.

To get it up to 200MPH it has to have been remapped, so have the brakes etc been uprated to cope with doing 200MPH?

Could have the carbon ceramics as an option as well. Those would do the trick.(not that I condone driving 200mph one handed in the UK, but I legit don't have any concern about the capabilities of the car in this case.)

You dont need uprated brakes to do 200mph.
You dont need any brakes.
Your talking about racing spec.
If he lifts his right foot he will eventually stop.
Not condoning it but come on?

How do you know the car hasn’t been engineered to drive at 220 mph?

This rocket scientist has justified the introduction of speed limiters in 2022.

Or just nullified the need for motorway speed limits.

Great.

This is exactly what BRAKE etc. love to see. They can get the public on their side due to one extreme example - and the rest of us who enjoy driving briskly (not breaking the limit, but accelerating within the limit etc.) will be put in the same bracket as this person.

When speed limiters are called for, this is the exact evidence that will make sure they are implemented.

Yes I'm sure your Porsche's rattle about and try to fling you off the road at 201mph.

This is the exact reason why German cars bore me to tears. You've got to drive it like a complete nutter in order to 'feel' like you're going fast.
