Good example of how to deal with camera wielding idiots trying to provoke a reaction.

OK first let me start by saying I am not anti Police and I was in 2 minds to post something on here but its the only forum I am on which specifically has a section for this type of thing.

Somehow I managed to watch one of these videos where people go around filming a site which might be considered sensitive (i.e. Police station/prison) and then seeing if they are stopped or 'harassed' by Police. Whilst they could fall under the heading of 'Police baiting' a lot of the ones I have seen are pretty reasonable. On some the Police are fine and on some they are woeful. I must have seen 20 of them.

Some Police invoke terror legislation and some don't. The guidance that is quote by these 'auditors' as they call themselves comes from the Police and clearly states photographing in itself is not considered suspicious behaviour.

Like I say, I wasn't going to post anything until I saw this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQ2zUh4C-WA

The Police response is here:
https://www.facebook.com/570296833345193/posts/117...

Personally I think the response of the Police (i.e. the statement) is pretty piss poor. That Officer that refuses to give his details looks to me like a textbook loose canon.

Thoughts?
I think this person is probably wasting more in police time - tax payers money than has contributed to in improving policing.

What the Police Officer says: “Excuse me sir, can I ask you to stop filming the police station please?”

What I, and other upstanding members of society, respond with: “No problem, sorry about that.”

What tossers respond with:

“Errr, no you can’t!”

“Let me have your badge number!”

“I’m not doing anything wrong!”

“I’m permitted under section...”

“I don’t have to give you my name and address.”

AKA “I’m a big great throbber.”

I have no intention of watching whatever it is on YT but the sort of nonces who go out deliberately provoking a response from the police deserve whatever they get.

.
A nonce is slang for a sex offender who targets children. There is no evidence this individual targets children for sexual purposes. I think you might want to edit your ignorant comments.
I think you might want to research the etymology of the word before you call someone else ignorant based upon your own ignorance.
The original meaning of the word doesn't make sense in your post, or am I missing something? <prepares to step away>

Other than early use to describe words coined for a one-off purpose, it also has the background (in the north at least and possibly Lincolnshire) of being used to describe someone who's 'good for nothing' or 'stupid or worthless'.

Obviously it's more recently been picked up to use to describe sex offenders, too, but some definitions of that also state that it's come full circle and is more commonly used now to generally refer to an idiot.

(There's the other use from a few decades ago too - and which I heard used in a modern police drama only a few months back - where a nonce was a police informer: someone who nonces on other criminals.)

Anyway, for me, a nonce is just a pointless idiot and that's the context here.

Thanks, never knew of the 'Northern meaning" or your use of the word. The Uk and its huge dialect!

I'd be careful how you use it in England then because its always meant what the Cambridge defines it as to me - which is: a person who commits a crime involving sex, especially sex with a child.

That is generally how I have seen it used in tv/films as well.

That's not my quote. I agree with the poster that questioned Porks use of the word.

Oh dear. I’m normally on the side of the police in these videos but that guy is out of control!
‘You’re getting a ticket for something’ is a corker
Along with ‘you’re not doing as you’re told!’
More like what we see with the American cops

Isn't it funny, the reaction when the tables are turned?
“Unlike Deputy Chief Zarcone, we think Los Angelenos should have a choice about whether they get surveilled, and that the city should offer that choice routinely, for any current or proposed use of surveillance technology,” Marthews said.

With that collar number he's obviously a transferee from another force with his amount of service.

Dorset don't train them like that, or never did in my day.

It looks like he's been tipped out of some office job to one of the busiest resorts in the UK and has no idea how to handle things.

Is that knee into the back of the leg an approved technique? To my (very) untrained eye that looks like assault.

The officer seemed to have a problem straight away telling him to F*** off

As soon as they did this, he must have spaffed his pants at view count and court action. Idiots falling for it every time.
