But i’ve run for 40+ years, Including every single day last year
I’m also in a running club
I’ve never known any runner with ‘all sorts of problems’ !

Get out there, nothing else to do wink
I'm not arguing against running or exercise at all, however it's not all good with running if you go too far. I use to live near the Lake District, fell runner central. Full of people with knackered knees who more often than they should dropped down dead at an earlier age than their peers, from heart failure. Despite more often than not being the 'healthiest person I know'!

Does the legislation define exercise as 'one continuous period only'?

Otherwise, I could see reason to argue that a 100 mile circular walk with wild camping over a long weekend would still constitute as 'exercise'...
Most people will see right through that as an obvious attempt to badly misinterpreting the rule.
Are we about to start a conversation about The Regulations vs The Moral Code? lol

You would fall foul of the regulations with the camping bit unless it was in your back garden. If you skipped the camping and just went for a 100 mile circular walk without stopping then nobodies going to stop you.

Ah yes, good point - I presume the '(P) is not permitted to stay away from the place they are living' phrase (or whatever it is) in the English Regs is also within the Scottish Regs.

Anyone for an Ultra-Marathon? wobble lol

If you went on a 3 day hike with a route that was reasonably challenging for someone with your level of fitness and experience it would be hard to argue the whole thing wasn't exercise, without also making the case that circuit training with 30 second rest periods between activities also wasn't allowed due to regular rest breaks.
The breaks on an over night hike are just longer, because the periods of exercise are longer.
Of course trying to have that argument in a car park with cops that think taking a drink on a walk is not allowed, while unloading a back pack full of camping gear is never going to go well.

Today, here in West Wales, the carpark I pass daily while walking the dog was packed full. Sunny day and people clearly driving to the location. The ice cream van did a roaring trade.
It’s my guess that as cases/hospitalisation/deaths drop and vaccination progresses there will be more jumping the gun and ignoring guidelines.
Boris certainly seems to think we can have a quick move out of lockdown, quicker than Wales/Scotland/N Ireland.
Our grandchildren returned to school today. They needed the return and hopefully no more closures.
We are hoping that a couple of UK trips carried over from last year will go ahead. First to Jersey early June, Silverstone Classic in early August. Dates to be confirmed hough.
Thinking of Lake District early Sept if the annual event is on.
Foreign travel? Hmmmm risky due to slower vaccination schedules.

Yeah.. No. I'd suggest to anyone just go for a drive out. Clear your head. Go for a hoon. You're not harming anyone.

Mental Health is more important.

A lot of people's weekend cars were dusted off and brought out round our way (mine included) these past few days.

It was nice to hear carbs/4/6/8/10/12 cylinders again. Even enjoyable to hear bikes clearing their throats as well smile

Didn’t work out too well for a group of bikers stopped on the A272 in Hampshire and given FPNs.

I do wonder how many will actually get paid... How many bikers were in the group?

This is the thing - if they were pulled unlike, unlike being in a car there is nothing linking them as a group - if they admitted as such they're a little dense. Always have a prepared excuse (that can;t be dis-proven!) - increasingly thinking that anybody receiving a FPN is subject of a stupidity tax.

Biker group could mean a heterogeneous collection of people who just happen to be heading in the same direction on bikes...
It could also mean a bike club, a homogeneous collection of people all wearing club patches/stickers/matching chaps and riding two abreast. If they fall into the latter category it's difficult to argue they aren't meeting up.

The Police are just embarrassing on social media. 4 bikers, in the open air, what a crock. As said, 'just out for a ride officer', 'no, never met them, just following'.....

Clearly whoever writes the sarcastic claptrap on the media channels is unconcerned about how the Police will be perceived, it's all a bit pathetic really.

I see the police are still pretending that there are prohibitions on travel.
