Having volunteered at a vaccination centre earlier in the year the anti mask lot were the unhealthiest looking bunch. Most of them with huge bellies and fagging away virtually up to the door before quoting some rubbish off Facebook.

I hate wearing them as much as anyone else but I also know how uncomfortable it can make other people, it's not all about me.
Working in a Vax centre you kinda have to comply.

Everywhere else though, maybe think about growing a pair.

If we don’t stand up to some of these daft rules they’ll be with us forever.

They don’t do fk all. I wear one loosely to get through the door so the poor security guard doesn’t have to confront me, then wear it under my chin. (I did actually get confronted one time quite recently when entering Morrison’s, when I had genuinely forgotten it).

I was in ikea today and once inside certainly most people either had taken it off or were wearing it under their nose / chin etc.

It’s utterly pointless.

Most people?

Countless people on PH keep saying in these threads that nobody is wearing masks where they go. Yet everywhere I've been seeing someone without a mask is extremely rare.

I think a lot of people are trying too hard to convince people it's ok not to wear one.

The lone anti-vax dad at my kids' school - who refused to go masked to collect his son (because conspiracy/WEF/control etc) so has to stand outside the school gates - is pasty and obese, and is regularly pictured on Facebook scoffing KFC or 'checking into' McDonalds. Blathers on about the vaccine and how he's not taking it. Oh and he also has quite bad asthma.
They're all the same. People losing jobs, relatives, business's and all that care about is their pretty war on masks/vaccines. They need to grow up.

Spot on. The only places I see people not wearing masks are petrol stations and that's one or two people at most. They just make it up.

I used the London Underground last week. About 80% were muzzled up. Is that good?

It might not be exactly what you meant, but that's a pretty tttish comment to a poster that has worked in a vaccination centre. What have you done over the past year or so to make a contribtuion to us getting past this pain in the arse situation?

I work for the NHS...have done for over 15yrs....I also volunteered to work in the vax centres as I'm a registered clinician, but was prioritised elsewhere. So I've done plenty..

Never been as busy in my life actually.

He's not being truthful, the very least is he doesn't work anywhere near patients and I'm guessing his offer wasn't taken up at the vaccination centre. And while you think you may be clever with all you mask nonsense I spent an hour talking to a guy in his 20's in March. He lost both parents and his sister to covid, spread to them by his cousin who thought it was all a hoax. He's the surviving member of his family. As I said, I've no idea if masks work but if it just stops one event like that happening I'll make room for it.

biggrin I spoke to a nurse earlier today who was moaning about an NHS Walt, aka a vaccine volunteer with a holier-than-thou attitude. I'm sure most are doing it for the right reason...

.... and that is why we are struggling to come out of lockdown. "if it just stops one more" is not valid logic. We should literally all stop driving cars, right now, on the same logic. Come on , think about it.

That's before we get into " I've no idea if masks work ".........

You have no argument other than to resort to insulting someone with a different opinion. That says all we need to know about you.
