Based on advice from the WHO and no doubt their own experts, this shows which countries have concluded that mask wearing will reduce the spread of the disease.

As I've said before, I'm not going to be drawn into a debate on the efficacy of mask wearing. There is no point in arguing, efficacy is proven beyond debate. You are perfectly entitled to hold a differing opinion, but your opinion does not change the facts.
WHO are not the arbiter voice in terms of "scientifically accepted norm".

Many scientists/governments frequently disagree with WHO on a wide range of matters. Try using scientific journals...perhaps even Google.

That's the problem though isn't it. The internet is flooded with 'experts' who have various qualifications and experiences that could be true, could be fake, the same with the info/advice they're giving.

Searching on google leaves more questions than answers really.

Indeed. That's kind of the point that I was inferring. There is no consensus anywhere, whether they are qualified or not.

I can see the common sense of what masks do, which is why i wear one.

The problem with giving people the choice is not everyone is blessed with a logic function. Also, it's not just them that can suffer as a consequence of them reading a 'scientific' post on fb, shared by Morgan, a 21 year old single mother of 7, from Tilbury, Essex, which advises everyone to immediately stop wearing masks as there is 'proof' they actually spread the virus and then deciding not to wear one themselves.

If we forget all the science, everything everyone says and think:

would wearing a mask increase or decrease the chance of me spreading or catching an airborne virus.

What is the risk of wearing one, verses not wearing one?

I found this elsewhere and rather like it.

Awaiting incoming abuse from the usual suspects. wink

Or might respect that not all reasons for exception are visible

You'll be dehumanised.
People will think you're a sheeple.

Oh, it's almost always a mental health issue. Especially if you include personality disorders under that umbrella.

Nope
Not all exemptions are due to mental health

That twitter page is hilarious.

It's not even exagerations or nonsense, it's just full of demonstrable lies.

But, if everyone that thinks masks are bad wants to then go and buy one, along with a stamp and envelope to post it in, more power to them. It makes absolutely no difference to anyone or anything, but if it makes them feel better, then that's fair enough.

How can people dedicate so much of their lives to arguing over face masks?

Posters have mentioned that wearing masks harms their mental health. This thread and obsessive behaviour at the thought of masks must destroy it.

"Most people with asthma, even if it’s severe, can manage to wear a face mask for a short period of time, and shouldn't worry if they need to wear one. Wearing a mask does not reduce a person’s oxygen supply or cause a build-up of carbon dioxide. You may have read stories that say that it can, but this isn’t true."

I don't wear a mask because I'm a and I don't care if you die.

How's that?

Asthma is not an automatic default exemption. Maybe if you ILD or IPF i could understand it.
I am asthmatic, use budesonide/formoterol (Symbicort) and salbutamol quite frequently. I play sport, I also wear a mask for most of the day and it does not inhibit my breathing at all.

To be honest I think most people who will use asthma as a reason for not wearing a mask are piss taking bullstters who dont actually have asthma and they see it as its an easy get out for them. I have seen it in shops, seen it at work (ironically the ones I have seen without a mask are going outside for a tab dragging their fluid bag on a stand behind them)

honest. better than pretending to have an exemption.
