However, all of your follow up posts have been fuelling another pro/anti mask debate!

His obsession with the mask threads, and it is an obsession, I find plain weird. It's actually uncomfortable and embarrassing reading how much of his life he's dedicated to it over the threads. It's a trivial matter that has consumed him. It's unhealthy.

Just let the thread die off. I'm sure it'll help Bad Company too.

You just stopped wearing one? You've just told the forum about 40 million times on every thread you could squeeze it in. I'm sure everyone has missed it.

It is an obsession. You've dedicated a ridiculous amount of time and tied yourself in knots over it. It's time to move on.

If it's a wet one I'd rather you kept your pants on.

Fortunately my local Basingstoke one was less discriminatory last Friday.

Or may it had a sign that I didn't notice. Regardless, I wasn't asked to wear a muzzle.

It was not there last week, I asked the practice manager why they felt the need to put up the sign.

It seems some Einstein tried to enter and upon being challenged as to why no mask proceeded to pull the I'm exempt excuse, the bright spark forgot that this is their doctors and as such they know exactly the medical issues they have and we're told to go away and get a mask before returning.

Doctor’s surgery insists you can’t come in until you’ve seen a doctor to confirm you can come in. Except, you can’t come in to see a doctor until you’ve come in to see a doctor who says you can come in to see a doctor…

That's proper naughty. Certain "hidden disabilities", anxiety being one of them, is not something you can be tested and "certified for" and it's properly common now (or people are now more open about it). I've really been staggered by how many people have or have had issues with it - that comes out in conversation if I ever mention my past struggles with it.

They are not allowed to do that. There is no requirement of proof. Horrible attitude, regardless of your view on the whole matter. That would actually send a fair few people away, and probably into an anxiety attack if they are currently suffering badly. I can tell you how I know this. I was "told" I must wear my lanyard at all times in a pub garden, in front of all the other customers. I left, and damn near had an attack. I've not returned.

People need ot be a bit nicer to each other, and a LOT more understanding.

Doctors or not all he needed to say was that wearing the mask caused him stress/anxiety. That’s a valid exemption.

Most Doctors won’t do written exemptions.

If the anxiety is so severe that they cannot actually wear one, it is a reasonable excuse not to have to comply with the legal requirements. Its often referred to as an exemption but exemptions are children emergency services etc.

However premises can make such restrictions as they chose, If it could be shown that it discriminates against someone, who is disabled, then they need to be able to justify it as proportionate to achieve a legitimate aim.
