I really can't decide if this is trolling or just the ramblings of a bizarre old man.

How can anyone have contempt for a bit of cloth that covers your nose and mouth. Having that much disdain for them that he refers to them as muzzles.

It must be trolling.

I get it. I hate them with a passion and just makes me angry since the way it's been applied is very ineffective (any face covering). It feels dehumanising and is ridiculous it is still a requirement. Odd how boris wasn't muzzled up when standing about socialising eh.

Also agreed. Trying to work through/solve this right now. It’s horrific.
Try NLP. I had over the phone therapy and it helped enormously. Or is it CBT? Can't remember. I'm 99% over it now. Had a few cold neck moments here and there but no attack for years now. I've learnt not to go out and about if I've a big hangover. Seems to be a trigger for me. Apparently the symptoms of a hangover are similar enough to an attack they fool your brain into panicking. The other trigger is the mask. I think the stress of the whole pandemic, including my business, comes flooding back the moment I mask up. Association and all that. Not sure. But I've been maskless for over a month now and much happier. No issues at all.

I will add that I'd be maskless regardless.

You will get on top of it at some stage Vince. The key is convincing yourself it's your malfunctioning fight/flight system, and then it slowly becomes a case of stopping attacks before they escalate using logic.

I'm trolling too...also hate them, also refer to them as muzzles/nappies etc. I can't understand how anyone genuinely doesn't mind wearing them.

Unless your cutting a door opening through brick with a Stihl saw obvs.

Thank you for taking the time to write this. I’m working on the things you mention above and trying to rebuild from the ground up to get back to the level of resilience i had before.

Much appreciated and best wishes to anyone else going through it beer

What about other people's anxiety over all the none mask wearers they meet.
My wife is genuinely suffering on every trip outside the house.
Sons wedding is in 2 days time. She anxiety is through the roof. People who don't wear masks should think about the impact they have on other peoples mental health.
Oh and guess what cases are rising and more hospitalisations are occurring.
So I have to have mental health issues because she doesn't want mental health issues? She should just stay at home. That's what I get told anyway wink

What about it? If she's anxious get HER to wear a mask. Get HER to have 2 doses of vaccine. Get HER some counselling. Are you genuinely expecting the entire population to bend over and "take one for the team" just so your Doris doesn't have to get in a flap at your son's wedding? YOU have options. Postpone and get married later, when this farce is over? Make it "close family only"? Uninvite anyone who doesn't want to wear a mask and trot out the "no room at the inn" line. Lie, and tell them it's the caterer's rules on numbers?

People who cheerlead for mask wearing should consider the effect these stupid paper towels are having on the majority of the population, whether they realise it or not.

Oh, and guess what? I couldn't give a flying fig that "cases" (clue: according to the traditional medical definition they're not "cases" unless they require medical intervention. If you simply get told to go home until you feel better it's merely an "infection") are rising. I'm not that bothered by the increase in hospitalisations. I'm not overly fussed if people die in tiny numbers. At least no more bothered than when complete strangers die in traffic collisions. Because, you see, EVERYONE dies. And EVERYONE has to die "of something" too, these days. 'Natural Causes' is vanishingly rare on a death certificate. So if I "catch" The Covid I'll take it on the chin. And if it kills me I'll haunt any bugger in my family who dons a "Daily Mail Sad Face" and appears on TV to warn others to cower under Mad Matt Hancocks cosh. Scaremongering, lies, and exageration are the order of the day just now. SAGE member shave admitted that Project Fear worked too well, FFS. And STILL Muppets are lapping this st up.

TL;DR? You keep your masks on if you want to, but don't be brow-beating the rest of us simply because we subscribe to a different interpretation of The Science...

This thread is mind blowing and terrifying in equal measure. No wonder the governments campaign of fear has been so effective, that is certainly one thing they have got very right this pandemic.

It's time to come to terms with the fact masks are going. They've been on the decline since March, news of their demise next month will only accelerate that. If you have concerns, thankfully, you can continue to wear them to your hearts content. I won't judge you, much like you shouldn't judge me for having binned it several weeks ago.

It's time to move on.

Because it's not a massive inconvenience. Calling them muzzles or nappies if not trolling just looks very immature.

I’ll carry on referring to them as muzzles. Incorrect I know but it underlines the contempt normal people feel for people like me
FTFY
Muzzle wearing is already starting to decline.
So did the Roman Empire, but that took a hundred years.

I know what you mean. It’s the same with cyclists. Why should drivers have to drive so carefully around them and be forced to give them more space? If cyclists are so worried about their own safety maybe THEY should be the ones who take more steps to look after themselves, instead of always moaning about drivers passing too close or maybe slightly catching them with a door mirror....
