I got done 2 weeks ago on the M32 into Bristol. Average speed camera - 44 in a 40 limit.

Goodbye 45 years without getting done!!!! Speed awareness course coming up.

Not happy but st happens.
It's strange....the 100% failure rate of people who post an image of a NIP under the 10%+2 threshold...

I can only imagine they misread it the first time, and then, when they go to scan it, realise their mistake, and quit the internet in embarrassment.

Also slightly amused to see Brummie guy being annoyed at finally getting caught. Surely the pleasure of 45 years of not being caught will counter it somewhat.
Don’t recall being annoyed. All I said was that I wasn’t happy. Don’t think that counts as being annoyed.
And the NIP you said you’d post?
It wasn't 44mph in a 40mph limit as first claimed, it was 46mph.

£20 to the charity of your choice if you do.

I think my money’s safe…
Annoyingly, I'm at work in Holland, nearly 5 weeks now, but my replacement is ill so I'm covering. Rest assured I'll find it when I return home...

Apologies, I missed the post where he somehow quoted himself saying something he’d not said, then said he’d misread it and it was 46…

Thanks smile I do know the cameras on the M32 don't have much tolerance. Don't know exactly what though. This is a 40mph limit bought in as a "temporarily" measure a very long time ago as the barriers were in a poor state of repair and the cameras etc were cheaper than new barriers. I can imagine someone new to the area would easily be caught out as it does feel unnaturally slow. The 30mph limit at the end comes up quicker than you think too.

45 years driving without being caught seems like a hell of a run to me. Don’t think you can really complain given how many times you must’ve got away with it before.
Who is complaining?

When I actually read the NIP properly, which I didn’t when I received it, the speed was 46 in a 40.

As per my previous post.

The whole section from Tesco up to Cabot Circus is a complete clusterf*** of different limits. I knew the average speed camera was there however I didn’t adhere too the 40 limit & got done.

Annoyed for an hour when I received the NIP & then went back to Bristol Children’s Hospital - sticking rigidly to the limit!!!

Which was already helpfully pointed out by another poster, which I already acknowledged. But thank you for the confirmation.

If it helps you (and I know the feeling of dread)

I was caught at 58 in a 40 in mid-May.

Road went from 60 limit to 50 to 40 very quickly and the mobile camera was positioned just to hit people as they entered the 40......but anyway, it's a fair cop.

I returned the NIP on 27th May and received an offer of FPN - £100 and 3 points - last Saturday, the 26th June.

Well, I did...

Couldn't find anything other than the letter explaining how to book my speed awareness course. So, I emailed Lincolnshire police confirming my details and asking for a copy of the original NIP. Didn't expect much, other than maybe a 'we can't give that information out by email...'.

Annoyingly, when the response did come, it confirmed that I'd been 'done' for 57 in a (temporary) 50mph limit, not 55 as I first thought.

Thank you for replying. Many wouldn’t have.

The search for a less than 10%+2 speeding prosecution continues…

Why would you do that? Head, parapet, etc.
