I think if I was on 9 points, which i assume you are from what you've said? I'd be driving like miss daisy, particularly in 30/40 limits.
Flipping people off and revving as you go past them makes you sound like a complete tool TBH, but I assume you already knew that.
Can't say I'm a particular fan of these community speed camera groups but judging by the number of pisstakers on our nearest 30mph road they're needed.
Exactly. In my misspent youth I was always getting points. I worked for my Father and regularly did 50k miles a year, so it was sort of inevitable. I was regularly on 9 points and tried to drive properly for a while. Unfortunately I got another 3 points after trying to meet yet another stupid deadline. Luckily, our very good lawyer got me off a ban, but I had to drive like my livelihood depending on it (which it did) for a good few months afterwards.Flipping people off and revving as you go past them makes you sound like a complete tool TBH, but I assume you already knew that.

I had my own version of that, I turned into a street and a mother and child were sauntering across the road, the child, about 6yo was way back, and just slowed her walking and stared at me - weird! I did not flick the bird though. My wife had a giggle at the death stare that the child gave me. I was doing all of 15mph I reckon.
Maybe she was sick of drivers who don't know about this?https://www.highwaycodeuk.co.uk/road-junctions.htm...

There are occasions where these people have been trained to use the device properly and their evidence can be used to convict.
The witness to an offence does not need to be a policeman!
Bits of this are almost rightThe witness to an offence does not need to be a policeman!
Correct, it certainly does not have to be a police officer to be a witness for any offence, but his/her expert opinon and evidence is will be seen as far more credible in a court than a MOP or in this case a bunch of OAP's playing with a speed camera, which they will have been shown how to use but not have been trained and approved (if they were they would then be a camera operator) so any evidence gathered is vanshingly unlikey to be robust enough to get a conviction in any UK court
It remains to be seen if the Walty OAPs would suffer any retribution for pinging a neighbour
I had a letter once for an incident about 200 miles from home. I had my Mum in the car so although (allegedly) exceeding the limit, would not have been excessive. I never saw a group of speed monitors so wonder if I was pinged by a roadside sign or similar. The letter specifically said that if I did similar in the TVP area then further action could be taken, so not on a national database.

Holding out for someone with a similar experience of this to post. Cheers.
Hardly, they're just pointing out it's exceedingly daft to be speeding when you're already (presumably) 9 points in. Holding out for someone with a similar experience of this to post. Cheers.
Might be worth thinking about, or are you just looking forward to getting the bus?

She then got caught by a mobile speed camera and did a speed awareness course but she still has the habit of drifting into speed limits and then slowing down.
To be fair, if she's sliding sideways into villages with massive oversteer, she should probably calm down a bit.crofty1984 said:

Being enrirely judgemental ('cos this is the internet and that's what we do round here) it would be amusing if that's what landed you a ban. In my neck of the woods the local camera groups send their reports +/- footage to the local police who then send out 'naughty boy' letters where appropriate. If you have a grumpy police officer reviewing the reports and they see you're a bad boy on 9 points they may take a dim view of your demeanour (speeding, revving the engine and flicking the bird) and choose to sting you with an offence that's worthy of points.
If I were on 9 points I'd stop being a hero (i.e. cock).

If it is a trained and certified operative operating an approved device, then it just becomes just another speed camera site being watched by members of the local communuty and not a community speedwatch site which is what the post is about, so I'm not really sure of your point

I've stopped posting anything about speeding, speed limits etc just not worth it. Holding out for someone with a similar experience of this to post. Cheers.
Seems PH has been taken over by the hat and driver's gloves brigade these days. Flashing people that overtake them and honking their horns.
I collect toots when I'm out on my bike, and it's just a Vespa not a fire breathing one litre sports bike.
I've given up on performance cars now and drive a 900cc triple Dacia and still manage to make progress and thus piss people off.
