I think they have been, they've also been putting pictures of him and his house online much to his annoyance. He's been very busy reporting various accounts for doing it.

I saw it on Twitter a while ago, can't recall which account it was on I'm afraid. I'd offer to find it but I've ditched Twitter as it's an absolute bin fire that I don't need to be part of anymore.

I hope so as it gives drone flyers a bad name. I used to fly mine regularly and always had good interaction and interest from people around me... After a couple of episodes with the 'drone police' and threats at me, I'm really reluctant to fly if I'm in view of anyone these days.

Whose fault is this? Is it the fault of YouTube “auditors” who expose ignorance to filming laws, or is it the fault of those who are threatening you because they don’t know what they’re doing?

Interesting argument. I agree in part for certain. The issue is the majority of the videos I’ve seen tend to be the auditors looking for a rise, rather than calmly explaining the law to people. That wouldn’t get the clicks though I suppose.

I’ve found many people to be interested, especially when I explain the ins and outs and show them the apps I use to ensure safe flight.

I don’t know how mainstream the videos are to the masses. I’ve seen them because YouTube matched them to my hobby so my view is no doubt skewed away from the auditors.


We were “audited” at work last year. The main part of the video was a very calm discussion with our H&S Manager, who listened carefully to the info he was being given. (I was on holiday at the time). He told the bloke that although we didn’t consent to the filming, we appreciated we couldn’t stop him. Off he went to film from the other side of the road.

Unfortunately, before our lad could inform the works, an employee approached and told him to stop - rather rudely too - something he knows full well he shouldn’t have done…. Guess which part of the video was the most replayed bit!

They arent fighting about the rights of filming in public

They are filming to provoke people so they get views on YT
