Nope, nothing legal just notional crossing points
Yay. Also can’t see any dotted line markings to indicate traffic priority, stop lines or signs.
Who on arriving at the junction has priority? Shouldn’t the seafront road have a dotted line to indicate that traffic on Alexandra Road has priority. NS council highways really have made a mess of the improvement works.

White lines and finishing touches are going down tonight. Will be interesting to see if any give way lines go down on the roundabout. At the moment the only folk who have give way lines are the cyclists. Also can’t see any dotted line markings to indicate traffic priority, stop lines or signs.

Last nights efforts, resulting in the 3rd attempt at a roundabout. You really wouldn't want come off on this gritty beast on a bike.
Two scenarios I see for little seven year old Tiny Timkins out for a cycle with his parents, coming from direction of camera. He successfully negotiates the round about without getting taken out by a car failing to stop but:
1) Due to the rather tortured nature (tight narrow curves) of the start of the cycle path fixates on the post and hits it.
or
2) Navigates post just as someone steps out onto pedestrian 'crossing' Tim grabs both brakes, front wheel washes out and Timmy's head slams down onto raised bed/wall cracking his £20 polystyrene cycle helmet.
Either way its an ouchy from Timmy, if he his still able to speak.

It was like this, where you could park up and eat your chips while sat in the car looking at the sea.
Yeah, but that's really fking ugly. I don't get the "it's ruined the beautiful victorian seafront” argument - it was a car park with a fairly grim pavement along its edge. Aesthetically it's better now. Edited by Galveston on Sunday 26th March 20:35

I genuinely don't understand the angst - it's obvious how it's meant to be used and it looks loads better than it did before. When I was down there a couple of weeks ago there were loads of kids riding their bikes up and down the cycle lane. The pavement's wider because the parked cars no longer overhang it. It's just a more pleasant place to be.

Someone mentioned previously how grim it will look when it gets dirty, well it didn't take long as the crossings are already marking up from car tyres after a couple of days.

Tbf it's not the best picture. It must be fairly scenic as it has been used in TV and film. Gassing Station | Speed, Plod & the Law | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
